I'm pulling for Justin to win this one. Why? He fits the mold of the kind of pop star that can actually be entertaining. He has great stage presence, looks like he's having fun, and has a great voice. I was just a tyke, but I can remember when Michael Jackson was worth watching, and Justin gives me that kind of vibe.
Kelly on the other hand, is so unbelievably vocally talented that pop music would be beneath her. I don't want to hear that voice wasted on cheesy crap. | dunkndollaz

I wonder what will happen next. Regardless of the outcome, Kelly, Justin, and Tamyra will probably drop albums sometime next year. Maybe Nikki as well. I wonder who will make it to album number three? Tamyra and Kelly I think. Everyone else fades off into the sunset. | WyldeWolf1

Technically, humming two notes over and over is music. It's just not good music. Obviously, there is no original music, but that doesn't mean it isn't good performance-wise. The idea of songs being associated with specific singers (and not necessarily the ones who wrote them) is a relatively new one that arose along with the record industry in the twentieth century.
Yes, it is music. Is it good music? It's had its moments. Of course, that's entirely subjective. | dunkndollaz

Tonight I hope that Kelly blows Justin out of the water but pre-pubescent girls and their cell phones can be a fairly formidable force.
and does anyone else think that Justin looks like "Sideshow MEL" from the Simpson's ?
(Thanks for the correction - nice brain fart on my part)

| #31 Posted on 4.9.02 1043.15 Reposted on: 4.9.09 1047.55 | The actual reasons are plentiful.
1) Will is obviously gay. The way he acts, talks, old pictures of him etc... it is obvious. He denies it for the entire competition. He wins and only comes out when the News Of The World threaten to do it for him with a former boyfriends story. It would not have hurt him, but the fact he lied pisses me off.
2) The result was fixed. Gareth was easily the favourite but suddenly, on the last night, Will gets 57% of the vote. People complain that Gareth's phone lines are blocked, which the producers put down to 'overuse'. Will's phone lines do not have this problem. He needed the push to sell the records as Gareth did not need the 'winner' tag as he was marketable straight away.
3) He has a lisp that really pisses me off.
4) His fucking god-awful version of Light My Fire.
5) Oh, and it was a class war in the end. Upper-class Southern England ponce (think Four Weddings) vs. young lad from the North who lived in a terrace house with his single mother (think Full Monty). The result is the exact opposite as any good Hollywood script would go.
By the way, everyone, look forward to World Idol! The winners of every countries competition meet to find who is the best.
Just shoot me.

Justin ruled. Maybe I'm just biased though, since his hometown is only a few minutes from mine.
In reality though, this is just like Tough Enough. Wasn't Nikki already offered a record deal?

Tamyra was already signed by Simon's label. Nikki has been rumored, but I haven't heard for sure that she is signed (I hope not). Justin will be signed, but probably by whoever's label has NSYNC (even though the boy band phase has been...well...phased out).

He will probably sign Justin and let Nikki walk. No other CD can be released until after Kelly's CD is released in late October / early November. Her first single comes out in two weeks and it will be that soon to be overplayed wedding song that she blew the doors off despite it being schmaltzy - "This Moment in Time".
I'm glad Kelly won - I don't think that any of this will go to her head. She has already said that she is buying her friend who entered her in the contest a 1969 Corvette | A-MOL

I'm telling you now - if Gareth had have won, America would be going ga-ga. Boyish face, spiky hair, little gap betweeen the front two teeth and (get this) a stutter. Apparently, women find the stutter adorable (?). Will just has a punching bag face.
Kelly is all over our news at the moment as well. She's pretty and has a good voice, something they did not seem to be able to find in the British girls. I might emigrate. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
