I had to avoid this forum for about six weeks because I was behind on watching this show, so I might as well start a thread about it.

This show is good but maybe not as good as I wanted to be. There are good moments and stretches but I guess I often remember I'm watching a ridiculous/FX TV show. Sonya is my most favorite robot on TV but I've had trouble believing her a real person. It felt like they toned her down after the debut episode, but it's still strange that someone with some very obvious weaknesses wouldn't have been partnered (or babysat) with anyone else. She was a walking disaster area in that first 90 minutes and only is not one now because a guy from Ciudad Juarez apparently doesn't have anything else to work on.

Demian Bichir as Marco is great. He looks about 15% scummier every time he's back in his house and apologizing. (The show is shot really well.) Most of the characters are interesting, if a bit familiar. I'm just not strongly getting into the plot. (Especially everything most related to Charlotte.)

The plots arcs seem to have quickly jumped from being barely disconnected to way too over connected. Mumble talking Linder seems to have the most magic plot developments, from the angry boyfriend just happening to check the alley the same time he's there, to the drug lord somehow tracking him down in the middle of the desert to where he was burying a body (?!?!), to his underground railroad partner's daughter just happening to be girlfriend of that same drug lord.

This week's episode had quite the gruesome death scene. People get shot in the head on TV a lot on TV, but they don't often end up looking like the poor dump deputy. This guy's clearly not the killer they're looking for, but I'm unsure how he exactly fits in.

The episodes have mostly had a theme to the stories. This one didn't seem as obvious as others. Maybe the price of revenge?

Man! I knew the chubby cop was going to get it seeing him huff and puff run back and forth to the main characters but what a shocking payoff. The uptight Mexican lady who runs the tunnel all of the sudden asking Charlotte's dumb boyfriend to go down on her was super weird. I know the guy they caught isn't the real bad guy but it was a better pay off than the little girl last week saying she saw him in the cliffhanger then saying she forgot how he looks like and then getting killed.
