The Bucks traded Glenn Robinson to Atlanta for Toni Kukoc and some other stuff today. Good for Milwaukee, I think, as I've never been too enamored with Robinson.

Yeah... one of the fringe benefits is that Kukoc is on his last year, so Milwaukee gets some cap room, which they probably need more than Robinson's 20 ppg and doghouse status.

EDIT: Whee, I'm a contendah. (YES, I just realized this three days later.)

Eh. They needed a shake up.... kukoc could be a good fit. But maybe not. 20ppg is hard to replace especially when the other two (of the big 3) will take more shots.

Kukoc has two years left, actually. Certainly, getting rid of the huge (pre-maximum salary rules) Robinson contract is a plus for the Bucks. I don't think Kukoc will start for Milwaukee. I think Tim Thomas, another very well paid guy, will move into the lineup. So at least now they are only overpaying one guy to play SF, rather than two. If Thomas plays well and they save money on the deal, then I'm sure Milwaukee won't miss Robinson any.

I suppose you gotta make this trade if you're Atlanta. I don't think Abdur-Rahim is best suited to play PF, and I think that might be a problem down the line. But as a team that is desperate to make the playoffs and is unlikely to be able to bring in a great free agent, I don't think they could turn down Glenn Robinson for this price.

Edit: I don't think anyone ever posted here about the Andre Miller for Darius Miles trade? Clippers look goooood.

Yep, that Andre Miller trade is probably going to lead to the Clippers making "The Leap" (TM Bill Simmons)

As for this Bucks-Hawks trade, my only question is this: Have the Bucks re-signed Michael Redd yet? He could benefit nicely from this, his game really came together last year (*ahem* the year he SHOULD have been a rookie).

Andre Miller could be the key to making the Clippers a hell of a good team.... with him dishing out to Brand (stupid Bulls) and Odom.... could be very interesting to watch.

Dont get me wrong... i like Miles... but this was a big trade.

The Clips didn't have to give up Miles for Miller, though. There were other offers on the table that would have let the Clips keep those guys intact and still add Miller on, but they were stupid and waited until after the draft. But they will improve. Looks like it's time for the Suns & T-Wolves to get ousted as the new favorite Team That Has Some Talent But Never Does Anything in the Playoffs.
