I know that if work requires I travel by air that day I would but 9/11 would not be my first choice for a travel date. Promote this thread! | | TheBucsFan

I personally am wary about the day, but I probably would fly.... I'd still feel a little nervous about flying into MAJOR hubs though (Atlanta, NY, etc.) | RockyRulez

Yes, I realize that I have a better chance of finding a million dollars worth of pennies on the side of the road on the way to the airport than being involved in a terrorist attack on the flight. Yes, I realize that this is what the terrorists want, for the U.S. citizens to live in fear. And yes, i know there is a 99.99999999% chance that nothing will happen.

A good friend of mine in Long Beach, CA is having her 21st birthday in a couple weeks. I'd love to go out and see her, but no way can i fly even now. I live in New Jersey and would be flying out of Newark. And it was 2 of the 4 planes on 9/11 that were Newark to L.A.? Like you say RockyRulez, the chances of another attack are so slim, but I won't be seeing a plane in a long time, unless i have to fly because i'm getting a new job in another city. maybe the terrorists have beaten me, i dunno. | Fazzle

But there is another way to look at this. It will also be the day when false calls and pranks will have the most effect. Officials will probably take every threat on 9/11 very seriously, and I wouldn't be surprised that there are a LOT of threats called in on 9/11. With all the delays and airport evacuations as a result, 9/11 could be a awful day to actually get anywhere. So considering that, I would probably take a pass and try to find a different date. | Dahak

Fuzzy you are right. The only reason that Sep 11 worked as well as it did is that it was new and different. From now on I don't think it's possible for a terrorist to hijack a plane ever again. All 4 planes thought they were in a standard hijacking scenario. You know go to Cuba to refuel, go to Lybia, and end up in Lebannon for 6 weeks like happened 15 years ago. Definitely not something you want to happen but totaly different that what occured. Look what happened when that mentally deranged guy tried to force his way into a cockpit. 5 or 6 guys got up and kicked his ass. Same thing with that dumbass shoe bomber. Unless there is an extremely large percentage of terrosist at least 20% I can't imagine how it's possible unless the security totaly fucks up and lets them on with guns. No one is going to think that they are most likely going to live so keep quiet and hope for the best. Passengers will fight in order to save their lives and the lives of others. Terrorists still can shoot a plane down or blow it up but I doubt one will ever be able to hijack a plane | JayJayDean

Please explain how the other passengers are stupid and paranoid if they are suspicious of individuals who look like the people who want to kill us, and are in the right place to do so.
If they just got up and beat them, that would be paranoid. If they keep an eye on them for the duration of the flight, that's vigilence.

You should probably stick to Canadian history if you really think the Vietnam War was about retaliation against the Viatnamese people b\c they were "bothering" America. The Vietnam War had absolutely nothing to do with the Vietnamese people or its culture. It was a political war. |
