AND I have They Might Be Giants tickets for that night. I swear, it's the biggest geek holiday since last fall when LOTR opened on the same day Final Fantasy X was released...

If you reserve LOTR at Blockbuster they give you a card that lets you get a free rental a week for 10 weeks!

I didn't find out that TMBG were playing in Washington until the day of the concert. that really sucked.

The album however is pretty darned cool.

Mark LOTR as bought.

If you get any enjoyment out of the DVD format, you shouldn't give Blockbuster your money, as they're trying to control the DVD industry to their benefit.

Plus you should be able to get it far cheaper elsewhere.

Blockbuster may have too much of a hand in DVDs, and their prices are expensive as hell, but I just got a DVD burner and the allure of renting 10 free movies/games seems like a great deal.

Tomorrow I plan on going to every store that has DVDs just to see if they have LOTR or the Simpsons Season 2. Some stores like K Mart and Walmart put out the DVDs that come out the following Tuesday during the weekend.

Buy them, and then call and report them for breaking street date. Sons of bitches.

-- Also coming on Tuesday: Time after Time, with commentary by two of the coolest people on Earth, Malcolm McDowell & David Warner.

Well, today's D-Day, and I got my LOTR and Simpsons Season 2 DVDs at Circuit City. The prices there were cheaper than other stores.

I ordered my stuff from Amazon, but I still went by Circuit City to see what their prices were. The Simpsons set was 39.99, but that was 7 bucks more than I paid online. LOTR was probably cheaper, but I didn't want an extra copy.
