I was really hoping Michone was going to push Penny into the Governor for the bite of death.

I'm not totally sure what Rick's beer was with Michone after the escape. Like she said she did take them there to save Glen and Maggie.

Cutty from The Wire better hope another black guy doesn't show up.

Angela, man do I still hate you.

Carl has gone from little turd, to little badass strong silent type, and is the only character to go from somebody I can't stand to somebody I really don't mind on the show.

Brothers of Destruction unite!

Great first half of the season. Less bickering. More zombies, more action and better characters. The one flaw is The Governor's crew taking out a National Guard unit. How do they wipe out a trained armored unit with relative ease and look like average gun owners against Rick and the gang? I'll just pretend it never happened.

Ok, the lady friend and I were exchanging hypotheticals on what happens with Merle and Daryl. The Governor turning on Merle wasn't among those. That was a legit surprise, especially since Merle proved himself to be such a dependable stooge. But the sight of Merle and Daryl standing side-by-side to end the first-half of the season was very cool.

Now let's just hope they survive, because I didn't see Daryl in any of the second-half preview.

Initially I thought that The Governor's turn on Meryl was just a set up for planting the spy in Daryl (as he mentioned earlier in episode). Realized a bit later that would be incorrect.

The Governor a few episodes back questioned Meryl's loyalty when Meryl discovered Daryl was nearby. Fast forward to tonight's invasion. After losing Penny and his eye to Michone (who was supposed to be dead), he is legitimately pissed off at Meryl and believes that Meryl had a hand in this.

Well done but it got lost in the mayhem for me.

I'm starting to buy into the hate of Andrea after this show. When she questioned the heads and got her response, she seemed to have just brushed it off as acceptable. Maybe it was the pacing of the episode, likely, it's going to come up again but she didn't come off as conflicted at all. The reveal at the end that they have Daryl and the events that haven't unfolded yet will likely turn her away from Woodbury. Come on though! Does it really have to take all this math for Andrea to high tail it? The heads should have been enough.

Pretty solid Mid-Season episode before hiatus.

The Conservation of Black Men has gotten a little troubling on this show. T-Dog goes out for Oscar, who goes out just as soon as Tyrese shows up. Other than that, though, it was a really solid episode that did all the things it needed to do. I like that they added some more members for Rick's group - it was getting pretty thinned out. Plus, I also like the way they demonstrated how anyone who's been surviving out on the road is pretty tough by now. Tyrese's group was just about as methodical as Rick's team. Andrea's starting to realize that things aren't what they seem in Woodbury, but I agree with everyone else. She's just not very likable anymore, and she probably should have figured out something was up well before this.

Michone and the Governor was MOTY quality. Just brutal and disturbing. Michone killing Penny confirmed Punk's theory that she will kill a kid. Andrea stopping her from killing the Governor was so TV cliche on a show that is so not TV cliche that it pissed me off. Glen ripping out the bone of the zombie's arm was pure machismo. He has come a long way. I also did like Glen telling Daryl about Meryl instead of it being another TV cliche moment of Daryl seeing Meryl than either dying or turning.

The Governor was straight channeling George W. Bush at the end with the way he was throwing around the word, terrorist during his speech. I am also on board the Andrea is a bitch train. Jesus, look around the room when Michone was going to kill him.

Tyrese is a huge thing for the show and it seems they are going to deviate from his daughter's storyline as well. Carl is now what he is in the comics and its good for the show to finally accept that. I see Rick's point of view with Michone. She brings them there, shows them a way in and then does her own thing then magically appears at the end. She did have some lovely "Come on, Son", non-verbal cues when Rick is yelling at her. Still, Rick is not working with a full deck considering he saw fucking Shane. That was awesome. Frankly, this entire season has lived up to the hype of the comic storyline and has done a better job in a lot of ways. I can't wait for February.

Looks like Glenn has been groomed into the badass for Team Prison in Daryl's absence. Making shivs out of zombie arms? Wow.

Great Michonne/Governor fight scene. Great moments also with Carl (CARL!). Getting a little tired of Andrea's "excuse me" face.

Loved the talk between Yosemite Sam and Carol.

I was legitimately confused by the opening scene. I assume Rick's group was always aware there was a hole in the side of the prison? I just don't remember them mentioning it before. Does that hole lead to a sealed off block? I thought for a little bit that the scene was a flash forward to after a confrontation with Woodbury and that their guys had blown a hole in the prison.

So, you guys all hate Andrea NOW? She's been hateable looooonnng before this, but she was just getting out X-Pac-ed by Lori.

Oscar and Axel mentioned that the fence was down in part of the prison. As for Andrea, she has shown likeable traits in the past, but we haven't seen any of those in a long time.

Her resolve/stubbornness is admirable. She argued with the governor and took the initiative when the opportunity was there to bag Team Prison. She's seemingly shoved out of contention the other women in the Governor's life (or whoever was in his bed in the season's first episode). She's put herself on the right hand of the king of Woodbury and had enough respect for Michonne not to kill her out of desperate loyalty. And she did save Milton last week. She wants the comforts of home so much she won't questions how it's created. That's her mistake.

But who really wants to know how the sausage is made?

I think the new group found themselves in that building that was sort of prison adjacent. Somehow the catacombs connect, but yeah, the group has the catacombs sealed up, so while it seems they have the prison locked down, they really just have the cell blocks and the yards.

It's been moving so fast this season that they haven't had time to discuss growing a garden in the yard.

I think I'm remembering this correctly: Immediately after Michonne left Woodbury, the Governor sent out Merle & 2 other guys to track her down & kill her. That's when she got shot in the ass, but killed the other 2 guys. Presumably her big motivation for being so goal-directed about killing the Guv was that he sent the hit squad after her. Merle went back & lied to the Guv, telling him that Michonne was dead. So when she turns back up to kill him, I can see how the Guv would be pissed at Merle for that fairly significant lie. Have I got that all right?

Thanks to you yahoos on here talking up this show, I just finished watching seasons 1 & 2 on Netflix last night. (Took me a week) Yeah, I've been reading the spoilers for this season, and was wondering, with them on hiatus now, will they begin re-showing this seasons episodes this Sunday? Is that their plan?

Well, next week they're showing Miracle on 34th Street. On New Year's Eve, they're running a marathon of all three seasons. Just figure out what time Season 3 starts and go from there.
