Take this with a grain of salt. So you know how there's gonna be a Justice League movie after Man of Steel? Drew McWeeney at HitFix (hitfix.com) is pretty sure Warner Bros. has cast their Batman, and he's Robin. Robin John Blake. The guy who inherited all of Bruce Wayne's Bat swag at the conclusion of The Dark Knight Rises.

I'm not saying this is untrue, or true. If it does come to pass, it's an interesting move, continuing to hold onto the Nolan Dark Knight universe as their official Batverse into the Justice League movie. And it makes sense, business wise, considering its popularity. But it's also weird if it is true. Robin John Blake as Batman in the Justice League movie means there would be a Justice League movie where Bruce Wayne is not Batman. Or what would be even weirder is Warner Bros. deciding to cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Justice League movie. I like Gordon-Levitt, but this strikes me as weird all around right now.

Perhaps he changes his name to honor the original Batman?

Holding on the Nolanverse is the first smart thing I have heard from this project. JGT as Batman may take time to adjust to, but he got the mantle past to him plus after DKR, I am kind of curious where they take him. Justice League cannot go in cold. Having established actors and origins already told is a good way to do a picture like this. Avengers worked, because we were already invested into Iron Man, Thor, Cap and to some degree Fury. To make League work, you have to do the same. Also, they can do far worse than steal Batman Beyond for a Justice League movie.

I like the idea of JGL as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Justice League movie ... but I hate the idea of JGL as Robin John Blake/Batman in the Justice League movie.

I think Nolan's Batman trilogy should be left as-is ... there is no need for continuity between it & the JL movie ... let "Man of Steel" be the first film of DC's Phase 1.

If there's one thing I know about Hollywood, it's that if "reps" say he's not doing it, then he's ABSOLUTELY doing it.

I don't think it is a good idea. Nolan's Batverse is not a good fit in a world of flying men, magic lassos, and power rings.

But then, I think a JLA movie at this point is stupid. Bad timing. If they wanted to do it, they should have started in 2000 with Batman Begins and Superman Returns being reworked into movies that built the DC Universe and set the foundation for JLA. Now they've got a gritty realistic Batman, a Green Lantern that nobody likes, and whatever Superman is gonna end up like.

Why not contact the people at Warner Bros. and tell them to drop the whole idea and give up the possibility of making a billion plus dollars over the course of several films over several years?

Or, tell them to get a time machine and get started on this project twelve years ago.

I do agree the Nolan verse, from a creative standpoint, should be left to stand alone and a Batman that can suit a world where the Justice League exists should be designed. We've never seen a cinematic Batman interact with any other superheroes (Robin and Catwoman don't count). That in itself is a novelty.
