| #1 Posted on 28.10.12 1224.45 Reposted on: 28.10.19 1224.54 | I've got a 6yo boy who is crazy into wrestling and talks about wanting every toy he sees on tv of course, including the WWE '13 game. Ultimately I would like to get him a wrestling video game, but can't imagine that the new game would be tailored to easy to play gameplay for a 6yo.
My question is: Are there any Wii wrestling games that would fit that bill? If we end up getting game that's so complex that he's constantly asking me to play for him then that won't be fun for either of us. Any help or insight you folks could provide would be appreciated. I think your Wii choices would be limited to the WWE series (and maybe that TNA game from a few years ago). Some of the earlier Wii WWE games used a lot of motion controls - not sure it would be easier for little kids, but might be more fun. I don't know if the new version has that or not, but you could probably find a used copy of Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 for next to nothing if you wanted to try it out. | It's False

What has me more intrigued is that apparently Paul Heyman gave significant input to WWE Universe mode. | KJames199

Having King of the Ring back is nice.
The Attitude Era story mode is neat, but there are enough little inaccuracies to bother a nerd like me. Still fun, though.
There are a bunch of wrestlers who are in there twice (or in HHH's case, three times) and they all kinda feel half-assed - era-inappropriate moves and taunts and whatnot (see? nerd). I like what they were trying to do and playing through old favourite matches is fun, but I'd like more of the current roster. I'd rather have Mark Henry and Tyson Kidd than two Mark Henrys.

So they did an EA - released the same game with some roster changes and whatever else and charged full price for it? They really need to just make these things a DLC instead of a full game.
'13 may be the first WWE game in 10-odd years I may avoid. I thought 12 was pretty bad.
Is the online still buggy? Lord knows the community creation idea failed miserably last year with the crap that was THQ's servers or whatever they blamed it on. | KJames199

I don't expect to see THQ go "hmm, we WERE selling this for $60... how about we switch it to $10 instead?"
There's lots of new stuff - apart from the updated roster, you also get the Attitude Era story mode, OMG moments (you can use a stored finisher to do something special - think ring-breaking superplex or throw the opponent off the cell through a table, that kind of thing), and King of the Ring, I Quit, and Guest Referee matches. It's certainly better than last year, just not THAT vastly different.Originally posted by Oliver Is the online still buggy? I've seen a few glitches when accessing the community creations, but not nearly to the same level as last year. I haven't played online, so I can't speak to that. I'll likely do one match to get the Achievement and call it good. | Lexus

The controls are simple enough that slapping random buttons will work on the easiest difficulties, the graphics are very cartoony themselves, with each wrestler looking like something Rob Leifield drew. No blood settings, no weapons, no tables, rated E, it's a blast to play. The sound on the Wii version is horrid, but if you've never heard it anywhere else (or are 6), you'll be none the wiser.
Should also be about 20 dollars. | KJames199

Ooh, a fine choice. I'll second this. I haven't tried the Wii version, but the game is really fun on both the Xbox 360 and the 3DS. A cartoony good time.
(You CAN grab steel chairs as weapons, but you're never required to do it and it's something I don't think I've ever bothered to do, apart from maybe one time to get any related Xbox Achievements.) | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
