This one hit me kind of hard. I mean, he was clearly up there in age, but the sheer volume of his life is just astounding. Bill Maher once described him as the living version of The Most Interesting Man in the World, and it's kind of hard to argue that point. And I think the AP hit on the head when they called him,"...the last of a generation of writers who were genuine celebrities."

I'm bummed.

He's gone, Mailer, Updike, Hunter S. Still got Roth and Wolfe I guess.
