Man, I really, really like this book. I think it's because it made me love a character I never gave two shits about in Watchmen and then constantly does new, unexpected things with her. This is the only Before Watchmen title to me so far that seems be really enriching a Watchman and not acting as a shadow of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons in some form or another. Though I must note the secret plot to use 1960s youth music to control young hippies' minds in San Francisco and subliminally make them embrace mass consumerism is lifted right out of the Josie and the Pussycats movie. I also liked the bizarre cameos by the Beatles and Frank Sinatra. The Silk Spectre costume (really, it's more like a dress) Laurie designs for herself is 100% better and sexier than the awful costume she'll end up in.

The Easter Eggs (the poster the guys are printing up, the graffiti, the smiling face motif even in the drinks) shows that Connor is locked in to making this fit alongside Watchmen.

Notice also that she is pounces on Greg after wrangling the bad guys. This carries over to her encounters with Dan.

Just didn't like it. #1 was good, but this didn't do it for me at all. It drug on with the explanation of the plot. I would drop this book if it was an ongoing.
