With all the positive reaction this show received I ordered my first TNA show. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this show delivered from top to bottom. With this being the first time I'd watched TNA I had to look up the rules for the Bound For Glory series and I think it's awesome. Wow Samoa Joe looked really good in his match with Kurt Angle. It's amazing to see a guy his size be that agile. I'd definitely watch him again.

The last man standing match was also very good. I can't say anything else that hasn't already been said but the Styles Clash through the table was so sick. I don't think I got the significance of the Austin Aries win but I thought the match was very entertaining.

The only thing that they didn't explain was what is the X-division? Is this their version of the US/IC title? Zema Ion just strikes me as just so-so. Overall the show did what it is supposed to and I'll give TNA a shot.

It's essentially a cruiserweight division.

Originally, they said "it's not about weight limits, it's about no limits" and it was presented as being the division for athletic guys who put on really good matches (like AJ Styles or Samoa Joe), but now there's an official weight limit.

I, for one, love the "Plan C" agreement that Austin Aries made with Hulk Hogan prior to giving up his X Division Title so he could get a shot at the World Title:

That every year, the X Division Champion going into Destination X will be given that same opportunity. It elevates the value of both championships, while WWE is devaluing their own championships by having two people a year win the Money in the Bank briefcase and win the title by sneak-attack.

And the fact that they gave it to Aries is a masterstroke. The "YouTube-watching party" thread helped make me an instant Austin Aries fan.

Furthermore, the importance that TNA gives to their X Division stands in stark contrast to WWE, which doesn't even have a Cruiserweight Title belt anymore, and it was last held by a leprechaun. And when they had it, they didn't make it nearly as integral to the promotion as TNA has with the X Division.

Ehh....before Aries traded in his shot, the X Division was pretty much Aries and like three other guys. The X Division really hasn't been treated like a big deal for a long time before this. I agree that this decision will give the title and division some more prestige, but it certainly hasn't consistently been that way for a while now.

Not to mention that since Destination X is over, it can go back to being completely ignored until next year - just like what happened after the last Destination X.

Also, let's be fair - TNA did the exact same thing with their Feast or Fired gimmick, even going so far as to have Angelina Love "win" the title by picking the box which had the title in it.

It should also be noted that the X-Division title is the oldest TNA-sanctioned Championship. TNA didn't sanction their own world and tag team titles until 2007. (Before that they had been using the NWA's world and tag titles.) It makes up the third title in the TNA Triple Crown.

I loved the Lockbox Challenge. Two teams of four knockouts each fought each other in a match where both the winners and the losers both got eliminated, then the four winners (two from both teams!) went on to randomly open a box.

In one box was the opportunity to fight a wrestler of one's choice in a match of their choice. (Velvet Sky chose to fight Angelina in a non-title Leather or Lace Match.)

In a second box was Poison the Tarantula, who was returned to the possession of Tara.

In a third box was the Knockouts title that Angelina won.

In a fourth box was a stipulation that forced Daffney to do a delightful striptease or be fired.

While it was certainly an unconventional setup, Angelina did indeed have to win a match earlier in the evening to qualify to become champion. It was in the Champion Tara's best interest to agree to defend her title in that setup, because it forced Daffney (who had kidnapped the Tarantula) to give up Poison. Moreover, losing the title through these means set off a chain of events that gave Tara a storyline for the next 13 months.

Totally different booking commitee though so you can't blame Laganga or Pritchard for either dumb idea.
