Well, dot.com doesn't post articles about people being given time off with the writing on the wall that they'll probably be leaving. Maryse and the Bellas went through the same exeunt.

I would not have expected AJ to become the face of women's wrestling in WWE but I'm all for it.

Well they at least have a crop of new Divas that actually know how to work a match. Kaitlyn and Maxine have been sharpening their skills on NXT and are miles away from their abysmal Season 3 match. Crazy Aj and Funkette no. 1 Naomi had one of the best women's matches I'd seen since Trish's retirement match back on that season 2.
The division needs a serious rebuild and the company has the girls already.

I won't miss her. She's the modern Torrie Wilson, all show and no go. She has shown barely any improvement since she debuted. There are plenty of hot women in the world to look at, but if they are going to be on a wrestling show, I expect at least decent work rate.

Not that I'm defending K2 the character but as a person she does deserve a vacation, just like anyone who's been working for a touring company for that long. She may be horrible in the ring & I wont be sad to see her off TV, but she has done her fair share for the company. I think even if she doesn't come back ( and no credible source is saying she's out of a job ) the least it can do is make space for others to come in. The Divas not getting utilized to their full marketable potential is one of my major issues with the WWE right now. The handful who can wrestle get next to zero ring time ( as of late, none at all on national TV & only a couple at a time being relegated to International syndication/On-line programming). But on the positive side, there are the FCW Divas who either as characters or actual wrestlers are ready to come up if/when needed. The ball is in WWE management's court to motivate creative to actually have the Divas be more than ancillary characters.
