Nothing special here. Austin's promo was terrific. "That's what I said, What?" He is fantastic playing off the crowd with that chant. Another thing I always love is when someone comes in the APA's "office" and doesn't go through the door, they go nuts. Gets me every time. The return of the Hurricane is good, I think he is better as a face. I did miss the Rock, especially since he has a title match on Sunday. There is almost no hype for that one, and not much time to get any. I would like to see a lineup of the Rumble participants. I can't remember a time when there were so many stars in it. Also, don't they usually have a big match to see who comes in #30? That hasn't happened yet. I guess Smackdown will be action-packed.

I disagree with you regarding Austin's promo. Yeah he plays the "what" card with the crowd perfectly, but its getting ridiculous. His promo seemed to last 10 minutes, and was nothing other than filler for a point that took him 30 seconds to make. Honestly, I dont think there was anything redeeming on raw. Angle/Kane was an ok match but it took awhile to get going. There were no other matches that came anywhere close to being remotely decent. The 6 man tag seemed to be heading for something remotely good until it had the balls cut out from underneath it. The opening segment was really good until Vince waddled down to the ring and single handedly took all the steam out from it. I don't care how good Ric Flair is, I will never be able to get behind any match that has any McMahon in it. In fact, none of the McMahon's should be on tv anymore period. As for the rumble itself, I didn't care about the show before Raw, and i dont care about it after seeing raw. Edge/Regal, its gonna suck, just like every other time they've done it. The dudley's vs. spike/tazz, again unless this turns into a hardcore match its gonna flat out suck. Trish vs. Jazz? Who the fuck cares? Jericho vs. Rock, i'll be shocked if jericho keeps the belt. The rumble match itself is the most star studded rumble i can ever remember, but there are only 2 people that have any chance of winning. Triple H, or Steve Austin. And honestly I dont want to see either of them wrestle Rock at WM. Personally I would go with Triple H Vs. Jericho and Rock Vs. Austin at WM, but i doubt the WWF has the balls to deliver something fresh and exciting. Over all, RAW sucked ass, are you surpised? Im not.

My thoughts and a good RAW:

Royal Rumble Entrants annouced tonight: Scotty 2 Hotty, Albert, Chuck & Billy, Hurricane, Taijiri, RVD, Test, Booker T, APA, Rikishi, Lance Storm, Christian. (Total = 24, leaving 6 spots open now....let the speculation begin)

First off nice opening promo by Jericho/Flair....I really want to see a Jericho/Flair match now! Also nice to see that the "What?"'s petered out near the end....because JERICHO IGNORED THEM!! (See Angle promo later)...Oh yes I almost forgot Ric made his match with McMahon a street fight.

Bradshaw needing two partners....well Farrooq and .....FLAIR!!! (Or Rock due to thier PPV Match)

Spike winning over Buh Buh = Tazz/Spike jobbing titles at RR

Steph all pissed off and HHH giving the "Would you shut the heel up already" look from teh other side of the car!

LINE OF THE NIGHT!! : Hurricane: "If there is a superhero you resemble it would be the Human Torch....'FLAME ON!'"

Wow Torrie looks extra-skanky tonight (That's NOT a good thing)

Taker riding and wlaking off....ok is the Hardcore belt just forgot about now?

Angle: "Being a big red freak isn't an Olympic Sport" And can he just ignore the What?'s already.

HOLY SLAP FROM DEBRA!!!!...Debra as a pissed off bitch...I like!!

Ugggh....Trish sitting beside King....King at his lecherous worst

Nice Kane/Angle match...loved the double chokeslam spot.

HHH going off on Stephs incecent whining. (Gee they're not teasing a break-up are they?)

And yes RVD's 'new' theme is just a re-mix of his old....much faster paced too...I like it though.

Regal using knucks to beat Edge = Edge winning by Knuck back fire at RR (much like we all speculated for Vengeance)

APA and...Rikishi? We'll see if that stands up...

Booker T vs. Big Show....this means that we get to see replays from Smackdown...yeah!

And Booker wins! (by exposed turnbuckle)

Austin's promo is just so hilarious...he went to bar started drinking....played darts...played pool...rode a mechnical bull...frontways...sideways....backwards....frontways....two-handed...one-handed...no-handed...then wore it out...started a fight...threw everybody to get ready for the Rumble. Gave props to HHH for getting back but HHH ain't winning the Rumble he is. And continued his promo with much much 'What?'ing. But it does work out somehow. Prediciotn: Austin and HHH are the final two with HHH winning!

Ok the Main Event is next with Rikishi in there and NO mention of Rock yet.....that just ain't right.

Ok Jericho/Christian/Storm vs. APA/Rikishi....Rock will show up somewhere...wow this match is just MAYHEM!!!! Was this made a tornado match somewhere? BREAKDOWN!!! And it gets the pin while actually looking half-decent!

Great....10:52 we're having a SPORTZ ENTERTAINMENT FINISH~! (Featuring the Game!)

Good, some fans tired to get the What in but it petered out QUICKLY...all though one guy did get a rather loud 'You Suck' out....Pato are you sure you didn't quickly get over to Dallas?

HHH pretty much saying Jericho is the best there is right now!

Hmmm...having heard from Rock OR Taker...

But here comes Austin! Nice touch....HHH blocking Austin on the way to the turnbuckle! AND OFF THEY GO! STUNNER!!!! HHH taking a nice looking Stunner! (After a Taker Chairshot)

Overall very good RAW...but where the hell was Rocky?

I thought it was a solid Raw as well. It was nice to see Lance Storm finally get into a main event even though there was still more show left. I like the Canadian Horsemen, but they need to really start pounding away at other guys such as Rock, Flair and the other faces to get over they are a team. I hate those types of NWO endings, but it does help to mold the essence they are a stable and they are going to be tough for one person even Rock to beat.

A Fan- Rock was apperantly shooting more Scorpion scenes.

Jericho vs. Rock, i'll be shocked if jericho keeps the belt

Actually, I'd be shocked if Jericho lost the belt.

The rumble match itself is the most star studded rumble i can ever remember, but there are only 2 people that have any chance of winning. Triple H, or Steve Austin

So? People complained when Triple H got to be the first heel to walk out of WM with the title. If people what the tradition of the top babyface doing that, the Rumble will be predictable. How, exactly, can the WWF put together good hype for the match, anyway, if someone like, say...Perry Saturn were considered a ligitmate contender? Of course only 2 or 3 guys are going to have a chance at winning each year. Besides, even if only 2 guys have a shot, you still don't know who's gonna win, do you (Even though smart money's on Triple H, I don't think the WWF is dumb enough to have Austin win 4 rumbles when noone else has won more than 2)?

Austin is becoming a fatty to win the Royal Rumble!

Heck, if that's what you need to do, why don't they call up a few internet columnists to fill in some spot. I'll do it. I'm already in Rumble shape baby!

Other than the Angle interview, the really good Angle-Kane match that resulted, and the opening segment, RAW was bleh tonight.

Kane/Angle - was the best thing of the night

Austin promo - Was creative considering he's kind of stuck, but it is time to move on already.

Canadian Horsemen - I'm ready for it. This is something that I would really like to see. Maybe Edge can even go back to his roots of heel/Canadian.

HHH handled the "What?"s perfectly - he IGNORED them and kept going with his promo, not allowing enough time between sentences for the crowd to break out a "What?"

Dammit. Ric Flair got whooped again by Vince's shot with the steel pipe. Well, I can point out one good side to all this-- it seems that the person that gets ass kicked right before a PPV ends up winning at the PPV.

Of course, this is WWF booking, so I'm not going to sit here and actually try to make sense of it all.

I sincerely hope that the rumors of the nWo return are false (although I'm beginning to believe that it's very much true). I do not want to see that happen. I watch RAW for Flair, Triple H, Austin, Jericho, Benoit when he comes back, and all those guys. I don't want to see Hogan, Hall and Nash come in and fuck everything up. Which they will, believe me. It's just a matter of time.

And dammit. Flair is as over now as he's been in years. I don't want to see the Old Orange Goblin come in and take Flair's thunder away from him.

When Flair was getting whooped, I had to ask, “Where the hell is Arn Anderson?” 'Cuz you know that in the old days, if you so much as touched Ric Flair, you wouldn't leave the ring except on a stretcher.

Hopefully, we'll see a Horseman reunion during the Street Fight at the Rumble. God knows that would make for more interesting television than an nWo return. At least, in my opinion. I'd certainly not want to miss a second of either show, that's for damn sure.

Dammit. I'd probably watch it anyway, wrestling fan that I am. But I fear for the future of professional wrestling, because you know how much those three messed things up in WCW. Maybe some people don't, but dammit, I was watching WCW at the time, I saw what happened.

Other things--

I agree. Why in the hell didn't Flair make an appearance during the main event? Must really be saving him for the Rumble, I guess.

I wouldn't be shocked if Jericho defended the belt successfully at the Rumble. But I know that he will lose that title either at the Rumble or at No Way Out. Because there's no way in hell that they're going to let Jericho wrestle in a WrestleMania main event.

Also, there is no way that someone other than Austin or Triple H is going to win the Rumble. My guess is that it'll be Austin/Rock at WM... yet again. Or Triple H/Rock... again. Or Triple H/Austin... for the first time at a WM, but for the umpteen-bazillionth time otherwise.

Did anyone see the sign the WWF showed on camera as Flair made his enterance, it said "Rick Flair" with "Ric" spelled wrong?

Flair looked like he was having a heart attack waiting for Jericho to come to the ring. I thought at first "oh no, not another brain anneurism(sp?)"

Jericho gave that guy a good ten-second staredown and then kissed the WWF (not WCW) title belt ... Nice.

Kane and Angle did have yet another neat match. For whatever reason, Kane seems willing or able to mix it up more with Angle in there and they had some interesting counters and reversals, especially Angle using that rolling snapmare thing to get out of the Chokeslam. I don't think I've seen that before...definitely beats the kick to the groin.

The highlight of the show, however, was Jericho's pants. That was a crazy pair of new wave pants he had on there and I think they might have helped Jericho distract the crowd so he could edge out HHH and be the first guy to defeat the "What?" during an interview. Another good interview all around for Jericho.

I missed part of Austin's interview, so I can't comment on that. I saw the rest of the show, however, and it was all pretty much crap, except perhaps the "YOU SUCK!" yell to HHH. That was funny.

Speaking of "you suck," I love how the fans are saying it in time with Angle's music. That's just awesome.
The Kane/Angle match was great, but didn't top their last match. Kane is so directionless, and the WWF could do so much for him. CRZ always writes, "Kane had nothing better to do," and he's right. They just can't seem to get this guy in a meaningful feud and DO SOMETHING with him, other than making him the "mystery partner" in tag matches. The crowd pops huge for Kane. He's cool. He needs a story.
Maybe he can join the NWO and be unmasked or something? I don't know.

Also, I'm diggin the Canadienz. I loved how Jericho came out, motioned for Storm and Christian and THEY OBEYED~! Now I know they did that because of time constraints, but it was an awesome rub for the guys to come out with the undisputed champ while his music played, IMHO.
They need to go ahead and give these guys a stable name, and make Lance and Christian a regular tag team, and have them beat Spike and Tazz. Then their stable would have LOADZ of gold and it would be cool.

Also also also, I bet neither Triple H or Austin wins the Rumble. They've been saying exactly that in promos and stuff for a few weeks, and it's just too obvious. I pick one of the six mystery people...you know who it will be.
