Anyone else pick this up? I am a big fan of the Dark Tower series, and was surprised that this book was coming out with such little fanfare. I almost wish I had missed it completely and picked it up from the library in a year or so. The book has a similar format to book 4, Wizard and Glass, where Roland tells a story of his past. During this back story, Young Roland tells a bedtime story that his mother used to tell him which takes up 50% of the book. The bedtime story, Wind Through the Keyhole, would be find if it was expanded into a novella or a full book on it's own. The main storyline of Roland, Eddie, Susannah, Jake and Oy only take up 10% of the book and should be avoided to anyone reading books 1-7 for the first time.

Little fanfare? The wait list at the library is in the triple digits. I got in around #60, so I'm guessing I'll read the book sometime in 2015.
I am very excited to read this when I get to it. Wizard and Glass was the peak of the original 7 book series, and that time in Roland's life is an obvious and perfect place to go for more stories. I like that Jae Lee is doing the novel illustration too, since his work on the comic series has completely redefined my internal images of the characters he's drawn.
