He sketched Batman for me (and my son) and was super nice.
The Expo made news first for being the reunion spot for the entire cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and then further made news for being shut down yesterday by the Fire Marshal for overcrowding.

This is awesome. What a legend Perez is. Always admired his work and his rendition of the DC Universe over the years is one of the reasons I love DC Comics.
Of course, I also loved his work on Marvel. Actually, I can relate this a bit to a story of one of my meetings with a star comic book creator that's the exact opposite of this.
In the late 90s I was friends with a few of the editors at Marvel (most of whom were involved with the Spidey Clone Saga and you know what happened to them). I was at a party with a lot of Marvel and comic book pros and of course we talked comics. The Kurt Busiek/George Perez Avengers #1 had just come out and we were all talking about it. I was asked what I thought of it and in my youthful arrogance and full-of-my-selfedness I said I didn't really like it. Because it was over stuffed with Avengers just to say "look at all of the Avengers in it!" and I likened it (negatively) to an episode of WCW Monday Nitro.
I wasn't done. Then somehow I started talking about Justice League International-post Breakdowns and how I hated what Dan Jurgens did with the JLI after Giffen and DeMatteis left and oh, Dan Jurgens sucks, I hate Dan Jurgens.
Hey, guess who was standing in earshot? Dan Jurgens. Oh hi, Dan Jurgens! Pleasure to meet you. I am an ass.
P.S. I'm still not a fan of Dan Jurgens.
