I gotta say the Seinfeld finale. Such a great show and they tried to make some sort of snarky commentary and it just did not work. The series really should have just ended with a typical "nothing" episode.

Yeah, but so was the "Dutch kills a cat" episode. I think they threw enough random stuff in to give it realism and to show the amount of depraved crap the Strike Team had to deal with and how it could make them justify they morally bankrupt deeds.
IMO the worst ep of Shield was the "Year One" episode.

I don't know if agree or disagree with this one. There is a certain beauty about that episode as far as the nothingness goes. Not many shows could close on a high note with nothing being the basic premise of the entire series. It worked for Seinfeld somehow. I really loved the closing conversation at the end. It wrapped the series up nicely by going back to the conversation that opened up the series. I hated and still hate the excessive tribute to all of the quirky characters that Seinfeld created. To much time spent in that damn courtroom.
I do remember being a bit disappointed when I first watched the finale. I have have since gained an appreciation for the effort of that finale though. Much of this is probably because of Season 7 of Curb mixed in with a bit of fan-boy mentality about the show and going back and watching the series on DVD.
As far as the worst episode ever, episode 2 of The Paul Riser show. I forgive the first episode because it's a pilot. For a pilot episode it wasn't all that bad. It set up the promise of a show that might, just maybe have a bit of potential to draw in the audience of the Mad about you Crowd on a long term basis. Then Episode 2 aired. NBC made the right choice canceling that show immediately. Just bad | Wpob

Dallas - the one where Bobby is revealed and the previous season was a dream. I never watched another show.
Commander in Chief - I made it to episode 3 before I could no longer believe the premise and especially Donald Sutherland in the show
Roseanne winning the Lottery - not that I hadn't mostly stopped watching by then anyway
and, that's enough. I almost gave up on Smallville when Jor-el brought Lana back to life. Almost. | Scottyflamingo

There is a two way tie for The Cosby Show. Both involve Cliff having nightmares. The first is the one where all the men are pregnant. The other one has Muppets, yes Muppets. And not the good ones either, the crappy ones from Muppets Tonight. | Zeruel

Good thing you did stop because it turned out with the series finale that every episode after Roseanne had that birthday where they turned the basement into her writing den was all a story she wrote up. In "reality" Darlene was with Mark, Becky was with David, Jackie was gay, not their mom, Dan died of a heart attack, among other things. There was a scene like the opening credits, with them in "reality" around the kitchen table and Mark and David were with Darlene and Becky, respectively to drive home the point.
And yes, pick any episode from that last season for me for worst episode. | StaggerLee

At the same time she inspires Lex to be a better man and Lana pretends to be an Asian chick. Did I mention Chloe has magical powers? Fucking terrible. And coming off a season where I thought the show was pretty bad ass.
I second the Seinfeld finale. Even with the awesome Curb season, it was still a giant disappointment. It would be one thing for it not to be funny, but nothing funny at all happened while bringing in the Princess Di law was pretty low. Yet, not as bad as Dawn being in Buffy. That to me was the single worst episode, decision and story in all of the Whedonverse. | Lexus

Seinfeld finalle was lousy then and lousy now. Roseanne's final season was meh as well. AND quite a few Family Guy episodes I've found to be bad.
I'll go out and say that ever since Steve Carrell has left, the Office has steadily declined in quality, though I can't point at a single episode.
Last episode of Wilfred for me. My girlfriend and I made a point of watching every week and the finalle was so dark and unhappy it was depressing. | Scottyflamingo

Great answer. I can't choose a certain episode or moment where that show crossed the line for me, but without a doubt Heroes eventually became the worst TV show I have ever watched. | Scottyflamingo
