I do not play PS3 games online, so this problem I have is not usually a big deal. But I do have friends who play PS3 online, so this could be a problem later. So I come to you all for help (and I think I have mentioned this before).
The problem is that whenever a game needs an update, and I choose to have them update the game, the download will invariably stop/freeze before the end of the update. I don't think I have ever had a game update that has gone all the way through to 100%. Therefore, in theory I can never play a PS3 game online if the game needs an update. This is because the PS3 won't let me sign on and play any game if I haven't updated the game. I always have to just cancel the update to even play the game.
I do not have this problem with my X-Box ever. I do have wireless capabilities on the X-Box, and it does occassionally kick me off if the connection cuts out. But I have never had a game update problem, and my PS3 and X-box are running from the same router.
Are there any steps I can take to boost the signal strength for my PS3, and is that even possible?

Wow, that totally worked. You are a great man, Cubs. Thank you (and thanks to the people I don't know that figured the fix out). When Uncharted 3 comes out, I will have to test the online capabilities of my network.
