| #2 Posted on 6.8.11 1059.53 Reposted on: 6.8.18 1100.28 | World Title-Kurt. Sting's act will sometimes inspired is doing nothing for the title. Kurt can at least have some good matches with it.
Tag Team Championship-Mexican American. I love Beer Money, but TNA needs to start building new established tag teams. The entire division seems to be waiting for Sabin to come back, it needs to move on.
X-Division. Aries. Kenderick has done nothing for the title much like Sting and Aries would be a fresh face with some decent indy cred.
Six Man Tag- Immortal in a botch fest thanks to Immortal. Daniels turns on AJ.
KO Title-Mickie with a surprise beatdown by Gail Kim.
BFG Series.-Crimson. It is funny they are doing a Goldberg push where it could lead to a match in ECW Country.
BFG Series-Pope. I am not sure how is the hell, but I think the two can at brawl which is really all this needs to be.
Bully vs. Anderson-Bully. Immortal interference leads to another terrible end for a Bully Ray match.
KO Tag-Tara and Tessmacher. Sadly, I think it will happen due to Rosita's unfortunate medical condition.

| #3 Posted on 6.8.11 1145.10 Reposted on: 6.8.18 1147.46 | WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Kurt Angle vs (c) Sting
I would love to see Angle finally win here, but Angle has been 0-4 in world title matches since 2009. Sting has been on a roll in winning world title matches. I expect that roll to continue here. - Sting
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Mexican America vs. (c) Beer Money
Beer Money has spent most of the BFG series with one or the other wrestlers injured. Mexican America on the otherhand has shown that they can win matches via interference. That gives the Mexicans the advantage. - Mexican America
X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Austin Aries vs. (c) Brian Kendrick vs. Alex Shelley
This Austin Aries guy seems competent. - Austin Aries
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Fortune vs. Immortal
Immortal is unified. Fortune clearly has tension building between AJ Styles and "the fifth wheel" Christopher Daniels. That said, Immortal's gimmick is that they are a band of lovable losers, so somehow (despite Daniels and AJ being elsewhere fighting) Kazarian beats Super Gunner, Steiner, and Abyss singlehandedly. - Fortune
KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH Winter w/Angelina Love vs. (c) Mickie James
I hope that Mickie James finds a way to debrainwash Angelina. Since she freed Tara from slavery, she seems like the go-to girl for solving other Knockouts' problems. She is also hard to defeat. - Mickie James
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH Rob Van Dam vs. Crimson
This could go either way, but Crimson's offense has worked on everyone so far. - Crimson
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero vs. Devon
Hopefully Devon's wife and kids turn on him. Devon should win here otherwise. - Devon
Bully Ray vs. Mr Anderson
TNA is just killing time until the coronation of world champion, Bully Ray. - Bully Ray
KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Rosita & Sarita vs. (c) Tara & Ms. Tessmacher
Actual teams rarely win this title. The odd couple of tarantula girl and stripper girl defeat the mexicans. - Tara & Ms. Tessmacher

| #4 Posted on 6.8.11 1246.26 Reposted on: 6.8.18 1246.49 | Sting's whole thing with the title is "now I have the power to get Dixie Carter back." Would they really have him lose the title so quickly after making that somewhat of a focus of his championship run? I think it's a bit strange that he keeps bringing it up, yet hasn't done anything to this point to try to get her back, but losing here would kind of make that idea fall by the wayside, it would seem. | It's False

They can't keep trotting out 52-year-old Sting for PPV main events every month. And since the plan (unfortunately) looks to be the eventual freak show match with 58-year-old Hulk Hogan, Sting drops the belt here. Kurt wins.
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Mexican America vs. (c) Beer Money
Remember when Hernandez meant something? Beer Money wins.
X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Austin Aries vs. (c) Brian Kendrick vs. Alex Shelley
Austin Aries is the best thing to happen to this division in ages. Kendrick retains, but the one-on-one with Aries is coming soon.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Fortune vs. Immortal
Nothing interesting to say here. Immortal wins.
KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH Winter w/Angelina Love vs. (c) Mickie James
Oh, with Gail Kim on the market now, you HAVE to keep the title on Mickie until she comes back! Mickie retains.
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH Rob Van Dam vs. Crimson
RVD wins clean.
BOUND FOR GLORY SERIES MATCH "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero vs. Devon
I would hope they're starting to focus on Pope Dinero again. Pope wins.
Bully Ray vs. Mr Anderson
Anderson wins.
KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Rosita & Sarita vs. Tara & Ms. Tessmacher
Months after Lacey Von Erich's departure, it's nice to see Ms. Tessmacher pick up the torch of "vapid babe that can't wrestle" and run with it. Rosita and Sarita win. | texasranger9

| #8 Posted on 7.8.11 0101.43 Reposted on: 7.8.18 0103.50 | This is a pretty underwhelming card. Anyway on to the matches Sting Vs Angle: If anyone besides for Styles can carry Sting to a good match it's Angle. The build up has been how Angle has made a point that he's never beaten Sing clean. Well I'll go with Angle thanks to distraction by Hogan setting up Sting-Hogan at BFG with a stip of career vs control of TNA on the line. Immortal over Fortune due to miscommunication between Styles and Daniels as they're headed for a feud as Daniels cost Styles a match vs Devon on Impact. Devon over Pope as for some reason Devon is doing well in the BFG series. Mickie over Winter. Tessmacher and Tara over Rosita and Sarita. Crimson over RVD even TNA isn't gonna end a streak in a barely advertised match. Mexican America over Beer Money. Beer Money has a built up excuse as Roode has a storyline shoulder injury and Storm injured his ribs on Impact, so Beer Money seven month title reign ends in a whimper to a tag team nobody cares about. Anderson-Bull Ray is a match that shouldn't happen until six months from now, but they've rushed through a feud in two weeks. I'll go with Anderson. Aries over Kendrick and Shelley in the match of the night.

Yeah, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship is gonna need some serious rehabilitation, that's for sure. Although I suppose at least it's not changing hands as fast as the WCW Championship in the spring of 2000. Jeff Jarrett won his first world title, and within a month he was a four-time champion. True, but even if they do get some good feuds together with the right guys, the championship is only as respectable as the company that promotes it. | redsoxnation

| #20 Posted on 9.8.11 2250.29 Reposted on: 9.8.18 2250.33 | The TNA World Title (and TNA as a whole) really hasn't been the same since Jeff Hardy was disappeared. By all means, I support their decision to pull Jeff from TV, but his absence left a void that they have seemed uninterested in filling.
From October last year through March, TNA had been telling a compelling story about an evil super-faction running the company. They had their evil veteran mentors, a bunch of underlings, and the Antichrist of Professional Wrestling as the group's lynchpin. It worked, there was drama there.
Immortal's champion falling should (thematically) have ended their saga. If they wanted to keep the story going, they needed to have quickly established a new premier villain as champion or #1 contender.
Instead, Immortal went from being an unstoppable supergroup into being a few guys who lose all of their key matches. There has been no Immortal Champion since March (other than that week Anderson was vaguely a heel; or Mexican-exile, Jeff Jarrett). Immortal hasn't even been in the PPV title matches.
The program seems to have shifted from being a dramatic saga into being a farce. It seems as if Immortal is positioned as a bunch of "lovable losers", and Hogan/Bischoff are the protagonists who each week try to recruit someone to fight their heroic-antagonists (the Network, Foley, Joker-Sting).
All in all, the title is hurt because the main protagonists (Hogan/Bischoff) haven't been directly challenging the antagonists (Joker-Sting) for the title in months. I think the title will be fine as soon as they start positioning wrestlers as both the antagonists and the protagonists again. |
