It's hard to believe that the E was really that dumb to think Cena wasn't going to be mercilessly booed out of the building and I can see that they were ready for it, because Cena worked mostly as a heel, with Punk getting babyface comebacks. That was an incredible reaction for Punk from that Chicago crowd. I'm glad that Cena was smart enough to know that tonight wasn't the night for him to mug and grin like an idiot. He simply walked out, because he knew the crowd was SO far against him that there'd be no winning them over. And that was a GREAT match, one of the definite MotY candidates...up until the end, when the overbooking took over.

John Cena is an idiot. He DESERVES to get fired after havnig the match won and letting himself get distracted. They're going to play Cena like the big underdog babyface that's getting wrongly fired (again) for the next few weeks, but he doesn't have anybody to blame but himself. He totally deserves to get fired, because he cost himself that match like a dope.

I thought for sure that Bryan was going to be the one to cash in his briefcase and lose (speaks for how cynical I've become), but Del Rio with a near-miss (and getting whacked before he could officially cash in) was just as good a way to end the PPV. And that's a hell of a way to go out, with Punk escaping through the Chicago crowd.

Can we call Chicago the new Philly? Orton got booed out of the building, Christian got a babyface pop for the DQ, Mysterio got huge heat for his near-win, Del Rio and Miz got pops, and Daniel Bryan was one of the night's biggest faces. This reminded me of an old-school ECW Philly crowd in so many ways, but those face/heel dymanics were the kicker.

Man, that Christian/Orton match ending was even dumber than I thought it would be. I knew the DQ stip would be the deciding factor, but COME ON! A NUTSHOT? The title changed hands on a NUTSHOT? Seriously, at least bring a CHAIR into the match or something! A title switch on a nutshot (when we've seen guys get away with nutshots before) was just dumb.

Also, I'd hope that they explain later that Vince McMahon had the MitB winners ready ahead of time, because neither of them pouncing on Christian after THAT beatdown...well, that didn't make much sense to me.

Both of those ladder matches were brutally awesome. At gunpoint, I'd give the edge to the SD match, which felt less like a spotfest. Plus, the Raw guys fighting over a miniature ladder that wouldn't have reached the case anyway felt a little silly. But both matches were fantastic. And I fully admit that I look foolish in calling Sheamus winning the SD match the easiest call of the night.

Best PPV of the year, so far. Great event and even the duds (aside from the Divas) weren't overly terrible.

Q'n'D Results
-CM Punk d. John Cena for the WWE Championship
-Christian d. Randy Orton by DQ for the World Heavyweight Championship
-Alberto Del Rio d. Rey Mysterio, Miz, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Alex Riley & The Miz in Raw's MitB Match
-Mark Henry d. Big Show
-Kelly Kelly d. Brie Bella to retain Divas Championship
-Daniel Bryan d. Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Kane, Sin Cara & Sheamus in SD's MitB Match

Ehhh, I think it's completely within Cena's character. He always tries to do the "right" thing, no matter the consequences. He's a kiss-ass goody-two-shoes, as Punk has said, and it led to his downfall. Great, great storytelling with that little bit at the end. That was hardly overbooking.

I wonder what the odds are of Christian whipping out this video cued to the 9:08 mark?

Daniel Bryan? Really? I hope he's not the first one to lose a cash-in opportunity.

You can't cash in if the champ is in no condition to wrestle.

If anyone from this point forward says that Cena can't wrestle, they deserved to be bitch slapped.

Cena-Punk was just incredible to say the least. Match of the year without a question.

This is by far the best PPV in a long, long, time. Daniel Bryan winning MiTB. Mark Henry DESTROYING the Big Show beyond belief. I guess the Orton-Christian match was the only semi-letdown and of course, the awful women's match.

But the rest of the card made up for the hiccups. Awesome.

You can, but he has to be able to get to his feet. They've done it a few times where the ref has to wait to ring the bell.

Uh, no. VINCE SCREWED VINCE

Epic main event, although King was absolutely awful on commentary tonight (mainly the main) while Booker had that brilliant "Rocky in Russia" line.

$55 is too much to spend on any non-Wrestlemania PPV...except this one.

WWEMagazine twitter account reporting that Vince slugged John Lauranaitiswhatever in the back after the PPV went off the air. Wonder if they'll actually go anywhere with that.

Not that all attention shouldn't be on the Punk-Cena match but ... was that a legit injury by The Miz? If so, kudos to him for coming back and taking one final bump before what may be a long injury hiatus.

I'm eager to find the answer to this question, myself. He didn't look TOO bad when he ran down towards the end, but that could have been him toughing it out. However, if it turns out that Miz oversold the injury to get out of taking the brunt of the ladder match punishment, it's a brilliant play on his character.

Saw it at a bar and it was so worth it.

I was expecting the crowd to be pro-Punk where I was, but surprised how Orton was heavily booed. I think people are getting sick of him.

That main event felt like Wrestlemania. So damn good.
Punk showed up in a new official T-shirt, which kind of gives away that he'll be around in some way.

Can anything possibly happen between now and midnight?

The main event was pretty epic, but maybe if Punk wasn't so worried about looking for approval from Colt, he wouldn't have blown as many spots as he did.

I kept waiting for The Rock to pop out from one of the armored trucks.

I found it funny Cole said the crowd was Pro Orton while every one was chanting for Christian.

I also take offense to Lawers logic that Punk Brain washed Chicago. It's his home town, by now they should know it doesn't matter who it is you never boo the home town boy.

People I talked to who were there said it was actually a date/Chicago specific tee (ie it had the date and city on the back). It also sold out in minutes. I'm sure it will end up getting sold sans those things, but as it stand currently, doesn't really give anything away.

Loved this show.

I thought the Smackdown winner could only cash in against the Smackdown champ and the Raw against the Raw brand champ. Is this wrong?

Jack Swagger was a Raw guy after Wrestlemania last year and attempted to cash in on both champions, settling for SD's Chris Jericho, formally making him part of the SD brand, I guess.

No mention of the Raw Money in the Bank finish yet? Del Rio pulling off Mysterio's mask so he would hide his face and stop reaching for the briefcase was one of the most creative ways to end a ladder match.
