Today's the big official day, where all the expansion moves officially happen. Not caring about the Pac-12 (and actively hating Colorado) means I don't have much to say there. But I do have a couple entertaining reads concerning the newest member of the Big 10.

Nebraska Fans: Who You'll Hate in the Big 10 And Why (mgoblog.com)

Keep in mind this is still written by a Michigan fan (who more than fairly roasts our own fandom), so stuff like:

    Illinois:

Illinois will annoy the hell out of you. They will show up once a year and declare themselves your biggest rival, even though you'll have no recollection of actually losing to them. After your game with them, you will completely forget all about them until next year when they will remind you again.

...may not make sense to anyone who hasn't experienced that. Which we poor Michigan fans do, year after year.

Describe B1G Fanbases in One Sentence (blackheartgoldpants.com)

Now this link comes from an Iowa blog. That's especially relevant since Iowa is on tap to become Nebraska's big in-conference rival. The sentences in the blog post itself and in the comments are a bit more relatable than from the MGoBlog one, as...

Illinois – The Michigan State of Illinois.

...makes sense to anyone regardless of fanbase.

Ok, I'll bite. What does the "G" stand for? Big 10 Group? A goofy way of hiding a 2 so it looks like 12 like when they hid a 11 in the Big Ten logo?

Nobody has any friggin' idea. Nor is there any sort of rhyme or reason behind the division names: Leaders and Legends.

Those names make even less sense than trying to figure out 'Atlantic' and 'Coastal'.

It's done so they can can use the 1 and G in the logo to spell out the remainder of big, and to also look like "10". Best logo? No, but it still beats the names they came up with for the divisions.
