Assuming there IS a season, of course. Pick your team here. (NFL.com)

No surprise that the world champion (never get tired of saying that (image removed) ) Packers are getting a lot of national attention:

* Thursday nighter at Lambeau vs. the Saints to open up the year Sept. 8
* Sunday night return to the Georgia Dome Oct. 9
* Oct. 23 at the Vikes'll likely be a nat'l game
* MNF returns to Lambeau w/ the damn Vikes Nov. 14
* The Turkey Day tradition that Lombardi hated lives on! Back to Ford Field Nov. 24
* Back to the new digs in Jersey (this time to play the Giants) Dec. 4'll likely be another nat'l game
* Da Bears come to Lambeau Xmas night on NBC

Putting Bears @ Packers on Christmas is really putting a crimp in my plans to finally make a pilgrimage to Lambeau (my brother is a Bears fan). I was counting on it being the opening game (although I recognized that the Saints were the other possibility).

According to the swank, if wonky, Schedule Toughness Meter*, Carolina and Buffalo have the top two toughest schedules. Arizona and Baltimore have the two easiest.

The NY Jets play the Cowboys at home on Sept. 11, the 10th anniversary. That crowd should be manic.

* Look at Pittsburgh's schedule ranking (28th), but the meter graphic isn't appreciably different from those with lower rankings.

I'm glad to see the NFL show my Bucs some respect finally (with two primetime home games, against Indy on MNF and Dallas on NFL Network), but man, some of their choices stunk from a personal perspective. I was all set to make a trip to Nashville for the game against the Titans, and they stuck the game on Thanksgiving weekend (meaning it's pretty much an automatic no-go). I also said I'd make Green Bay happen as long as it was before Thanksgiving, but I wasn't expecting it to be the WEEK BEFORE Thanksgiving, brrr. (Still probably going to go, though, along with Minnesota in September and the home games against N'awlins and Dallas.)

1. I think this is really moot, since I expect games to be rescheduled during the lockout.

2. Which games will have scabs? :>

couple of thoughts ...

-Would've like to have seen the Jets-Giants game be the 9/11 game ...
-How in the world does Jacksonville get 2 home MNF games? To showcase for L.A.?

I would assume the NFL thinks they're going to be a contender, and since they were in the thick of the playoffs all last year, that's not too far-fetched of an idea. And also, they got all their home games on TV last year, so I don't think they're a candidate for LA at this point.

EDIT: But since you're Titan fan, I assume you know all that because they're division rivals.

Heck, we average around 34 degrees in November. Wouldn't suprise me if we're warmer than that this year.

C'mon up to Lambeau! Perhaps we'll grab a cold one!
