Bret Hart joined Twitter the other day as @HitmanBretSHart (cue Shart jokes, like the Shartshooter) and wasted little time in becoming entertaining, specifically in taking a shot at Hulk Hogan in a Q&A.

@HitmanBretSHart Bret Hart
@kevmtaylor71 Hogan's nothing but a two-faced, backstabbing, steroid freak who deserved everything he got.

Hogan responded and now it's on.

@HulkHogan4Real Hulk Hogan
Listen to where Bretts speaking from,it's funny he's done everything he's saying I did. HH

@HitmanBretSHart Bret Hart
@HulkHogan4Real That's not what John Graziano thinks, dickhead.

This is why Twitter was invented, so two fifty-plus year old world famous pro wrestlers can argue like nine year olds at the schoolyard. Although, Bret started the shit. Hogan was just minding his own business hyping his fake feud with Dixie Carter and talking about TNA getting "back on track", brother, when Bret started in on him.

Just to put it in perspective, someone on Twitter asked Bret his thoughts on Hogan. He didn't just wake up today going: "Fucking Hulk Hogan!"

Not that he might not do that. ;-)

I'm guessing Bret's middle initial is "S". Why else would someone pick such an unfortunate Twitter ID?

    @HitmanBretSHart what's ur opinion of el dandy?

    HitmanBretSHart Bret Hart@
    @jamesmalfitano I meant what I said a long time ago. Compared to most of the guys in WCW, El Dandy at least deserved it.

What's wrong with El Dandy?

    @mr_poopyhead The "S" stands for Sargent, my middle name. Coincidentally, named after the late Sargent Shriver

I read that the opposite way. It seemed like he was praising El Dandy for something, compared to "most of the guys in WCW".

If I'm remembering right, late in Bret's run in WCW when he was their champion, he made a big deal about giving a title shot to a top competitor on Nitro, and wound up giving it to cruiserweight El Dandy. When Mean Gene Okerlund questioned this decision and accused Bret of being a coward afraid to defend his title against a legitimate contender, Bret's response was "Who are you to doubt El Dandy?". That would be where that question and response come from!

Ah, found a link! He was only the US Champ then, not the World Champ like I thought. But here it is.

Tremendous. I hate when people back out of arguments by taking the so-called high road. Fuck, the high road, it is done nothing for anyone. It is amazing for who bad WCW booked Bret was in WCW, he still made things at least interesting.

To stop me from launching the newest Twitter sensation (much like Drunk Hulk and English 50 Cent), The Shitman, Bret Shart? (Which, it should be noted, sounds more like a character XPW would've had at their lowest hour.)

I don't think Bret actually gave the title shot to El Dandy (or Psicosis, for that matter); he was simply talking to Mean Gene about who he felt "deserved" a title shot.

Of course, Bret was a heel at that particular point in time, and so was picking the most unlikely contenders.

Wow. That Graziano bit was off topic and really unfair. I try to defend Bret when possible, but jeez. He wasn't half this hard on Hulk in his book.

In other news, Bret read this board! He links to the 'who are you to doubt El Dandy?' youtube clip a few hours after we discuss it here. Coincidence? unfuckingpossible.

I loved the off the hook WCW Bret Hart interviews. He's so pissed and so bitter and yet he know WCW has no idea what to do with him so he just totally rolled with it.

... and does Hogan end all his tweets with HH?

Usually when someone does that on Twitter it's because other people sometimes tweet using the same account. Like maybe a significant other or a personal assistant or manager or something. So when the main person uses his initials you know it was actually him.

Or he could just be silly.

I loved Bret in everything he did in WCW, true, they had ZERO idea on what to use him for, but he made the most out of the crap they gave him to work with.
