Variety is reporting that, following the success of such talking-dog movies as Warner Bros. Pictures' CATS AND DOGS and SCOOBY DOO and the Walt Disney Co.'s SNOW DOGS, which included a brief bit with chatting canines, Disney is now jumping on the chuckwagon. The company is reviving it's the SHAGGY DOG franchise in a big-screen feature that studio-based Robert Simonds Co. will produce. 1959's SHAGGY told the story of a family man who, through a spell, keeps changing into a sheepdog and back again at the most inopportune times.

I remember being forced to watch that movie as a small child, and then I saw a commercial for a 90s sequal which I managed to avoid. Unless he's going to change into a rottweiler that rips people's throats open at the slightest offense, I don't see myself at this one. That's too bad, because I just LOVE giving Disney my hard-earned cash!

This had BETTER be leading to "Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog: The Movie."

Whoa.

If the dog does turn into a rottweiler who rips people's throats open at the slightest offense, I'M THERE!

(Required joke): And Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: The Movie sounds like a great movie...

And if Troma films, instead of Disney, were producing, that would happen.
