A Two Hour Series Finale on May 13th.

http://www.tvline.com/2011/02/scoop-smallville-finale-takes-flight-may-13/

Smallville is going out with a Super sized bang. Although, my initial reaction was... 2 hour finale? The previous 222 hours weren't enough? Then it occurred to me I've watched over 200 hours of Smallville and I got a little depressed.

But whatever.

The standard to match and will be Absolute Justice, which was one of the series-best episodes. A two hour finale is a suitable ending to the 10 year odyssey of Clark Kent. Pun intended when I say "suitable". I would have to guess there is NO WAY IN HELL they could ever get away with ending the series in a two hour movie without showing Tom Welling flying in the red and blue caped suit.

But will they save the Lois and Clark wedding for the finale as well?

This article says Clark (Superman?) is taking on Darkseid in the finale:

Michael Rosembaum isn't coming back for the Smallville finale. I'm very disappointed in him.

Not surprised. The fact they brought in the Cadmus clones signaled to me, he was not locked in. It sucks, but they are shoehorning too much stuff in this season with the VRA, Chloe disappearing and coming back, Suicide Squad, Darkseid and the wedding, it really is too much. They should have left Chloe out of the rest of the season and ended the VRA stuff when they went came back last week. Yet, even if its for a few scenes to show him taking over Luthcorp from Lionel, it would have been fun. I still think if they can fast forward it a few years and have a CGI Christopher Reeves looking at Gene Hackman as he does the wink and nod fly at the end, it would be perfect. I know people want Clark in the suit as the end scene, but it will be pretty fucking lame to have Clark or Blur vs. Darkseid instead Superman.

Well how about him showing up in the suit for the final Darkseid fight.
Like...do a WWE style "top of the hour" moment when you see him open the package and change.
Next scene he is in red & blue.

It IS kinda lame if they have to close the series without Lex played by Rosenbaum. But we'll see.

oh Lotjx, what you said is pretty much the one thing I dislike about several of the seasons. Too much different factions and angles.
They want to put a lot of stuff and references in there, yet still do their own mythology and as a result some stories are forgotten or don't work out well enough.

Me too. What the fuck is he thinking?? Not like the guy has a big career and even George fucking Clooney returned for the final season of ER.

Now Michael Rosembaum is coming back after all! Is he Lex Luthor or Mubarak?

He's doing the right thing. All's right in the Smallville world.

I was hoping they were all just towing the "not coming back" line as a way of throwing everyone off to create a Holy Shit moment, but after reading some of the comments in the first article, he probably was receiving some threats (which he jokingly mentioned).

Still, glad to hear - puts my mind at ease for the finale.
