| #1 Posted on 12.7.02 2336.26 Reposted on: 12.7.09 2337.00 | My attention was recently drawn to a very old thread in which Travis made the following comparison:
"actually the guy who turns heel on the fellowship looked like [Triple H]"
WTF! I know that this is a wrestle-centric board, but this has to be some sort of sacrilege. The Lord of the Rings should not be discussed in wrestling terms.
Are the Hobbits merely cruiserweights? Was Arwen a valet? Is Gollum a tweener? Did Tolkien book Frodo (a second-generation superstar) to hold the title until the Mt. Doom PPV (where the title was vacated after Frodo juiced the hard way)?
That's just wrong.
(Besides, the major heel turn in the triolgy was Saruman- he was the leader of the most powerful face stable in Middle-earth before he teamed with Sauron in his quest for the gold) Promote this thread! | | ManiacalClown

Now what's up with the Glorfindel angle? He does a run-in and saves everyone from the Nazgul then just completely drops out of the storylines. Backstage problems maybe? | tomvejada

In the Silmarillion, Glorfindel was a badass elven warrior of Gondolin who singlehandedly took out a Balrog. In the published Silmarillion account (which was unfinished and therefore not completely in tune with LOTR) Glorfindel died during this battle. BTW, he was defending, among others, Elrond's grandparents.
And was Frodo's flipping out at Mount Doom the ultimate teased heel turn or what? | vsp
