I said this last year when they actually devoted an episode to the Evil Monkey. When they're actively tying up running gags (in this case, Brian writing a book), you get the sense that the end is near for this show.

I wish I could say more about this one, but I was bored to tears. I don't think I laughed once during this whole episode and it didn't help that Brian and Stewie were more out-of-character than usual. That last live-action segment with Bill Maher went on WAAAAAAY too long, though the payoff ALMOST redeemed it.

Another clunker and another strike against the HD-era of FG.

I saw the plot development and ultimate ending to this one coming a milw away. Another episode where they spent so much time building up the plot that they ran out of time for an actual ending and just sort of stopped the show at the end.

I'm still not quite sure what the point of the live action bit was. It didn't seem like it was there to be funny, or entertaining, or anything you'd naively expect from this show.

It was the only way they could think of for Brian to be exposed as a sell-out/hypocrite. It might've worked if the segment wasn't so long.

Mostly; it made me glad I don't watch Bill Maher's show if it's anything like that clip.

I also agree that the end segment went on too long. I thought it was a nice touch that Brian was sorta the bad guy in this one while Stewie was the devoted friend. Minus the opening scene with them at the TV station, it was just flat. They really need to step their game. The show has developed this weird ability to morph into the subject matter like the murder mystery and the boxing episode where those elements are more intriguing then the satirizing. The same goes for this one, too where it did feel more like the rise and fall of Brian the writer then making fun of uptight asshole writers. Bill's show isn't that bad, but Political Incorrect was the better show due to little or no time devoted to Bill's rants expect for the monologue.
