Is it Bradshaw?
Might just go to show that the division is so meaningless, I couldn't tell you who the champ was without guessing. | Tragic1

Some bad ass who brings a referee along with him so he can legally punk out someone and then pin them for an 'official' win. Have him go so roughshod over everyone that someone goes after him not so much because they want the belt, but because they want to stop the other guy's 'reign of terror'. | drjayphd

Well, they sort of took a step in that direction on Heat. They said Raven requested the match with Bradshaw so he could use the belt as an excuse to get back on Raw. They didn't play it up too much, but it works. | WyldeWolf1

Over the last few years, we've seen Austin, Undertaker, Kane, Rock, HHH, etc. basically go on a "beat-the-crap-out-of-everybody" streak WITHOUT the Hardcore belt in tow. I don't know if it would have the same impact now. | ThreepMe

Know what is funny? UFC has less chance of injury than Pro-Wrestling.
In UFC, most matches end in submission. Unless you try to break the hold you only come out with a few bruses and a damaged ego.
I had the opportunity to hang out with Ken Shamrock for an entire day once (back in '99). I asked him aboot injury potential. He told me that since he was wrestling full time he has sustained more injury than any of his shoot fighting matches.
He said that landing on certain body parts over and over again begin to wear you down.
Bottom line was, he told me that since UFC is so technical, you hardly get hurt.
BTW, Tina Shamrock is hella kewl. Funny as hell. | Tom Dean

That's great advertising for Heat, isn't it? "Hey, kids, watch the show that wrestlers are trying to get off of so they can be on the REAL show!" | UnsUwe

| #27 Posted on 16.7.02 1142.33 Reposted on: 16.7.09 1147.42 | I'd love to see good old HC matches again. This 24/7 rule should be skipped right away, and go back to the days when the hardcore title actually meant something, where two guys were fighting each other in barbed wire, in dumpsters, in lakes 'n stuff. Sure it was crap from a wrestling point of view, but it was great stuff from an entertainment point of view. Today a title changed hand all the time. How's that: "Christian is a champion 3 Wrestlemanias in a row, because at WM 16 and 17 he won the Tag Team belt, and at WM 18 he won the hardcore belt". Yeah, like anyone cares. Damned, those Mick Foley times.............
And RVD one of the best hardcore champions? Why, just because he held the belt for several weeks? That doesn't make him hardcore. The PPV matches he had were basical ladder matches, what's hardcore about that more than all the other ladder matches you saw? And didn't he get pinned by Stone Cold at No Mercy? So why didn't he lose the belt to him? No way, at that time they just kept *some* belt on him to show that he is about to become a big thing (the WWE's way to make someone a big thing, ignoring that from the fans reaction he was already). | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
