Which one should I get? I asked the "Sports Game Guy" via Twitter and he replied:

@MPDamon @JayJayDean Wow that is #toughdecision. Positive is you can't go wrong with either. Both are outstanding and both have super high replay.

which isn't really helpful. I looked at Metacritic and they were BOTH scored as 89, so THAT wasn't really helpful.

I'm only buying one for now, so anyone with any feedback on one (or hopefully both) would be appreciated.

Can you fight in NHL 11?

That would be the tipping point for me.

Flip a coin! It's helpful because in that moment it's in the air, you'll figure out what you want the outcome to be.

Also hockey is way better than football, and I'm pretty sure you can fight in the NHL games.

I always thought the logic was that if you can't abide the outcome, then that's the choice you always wanted.

JJD, I'm guessing neither sport has a team that you are a bigger fan of and would look forwarding to playing as more?

That would make it easy, wouldn't it? I am kind of partial towards NHL because they have the WHL teams this year, but not enough to make a tangible difference.

The last I bought either game was when the were on the '09 version, and I liked them equally.

Bought FIFA '11 on Friday and I'm loving it. I thought FIFA 10 was a massively overrated game, but they've fixed all of the glaring issues (notably crappy presentation and an abysmal Manager Mode) and tweaked the gameplay in ways which are generally subtle but make for an infinitely better game.

I'm sure I'll find a couple of problems once I've played it more (it's STILL ludicrously time consuming to set up a custom tournament) but I don't have any problem recommending it.

I ain't played NHL 11 however so I'm useless if you're looking for a direct comparison. The fact that it doesn't feature the ability to play with either the mighty Bolton Wanderers or Rangers FC is surely a setback which can not be overlooked though.

I went with NHL '11. So far, I can't complain. I'm still having to get used to using the right stick so much, but it's been pretty fun so far.

I plan to go ahead and get FIFA '11 this weekend, so I'll be able to answer my own question soon enough.
