Anybody else catch NFL Monday Night Countdown on the Deuce tonight? Just whets my appetite for the season to begin even more. I also picked up some fantasy football mags over the weekend to begin preparations for what will hopefully be another successful campaign in my league this year.
Maybe we should look into doing a free online league between the Weiners like the NCAA pools? Anyone know of a good one or have any interest?
If anyone is interested in starting a fantasy league please let me know. I would be interested in joining.
I was in a Yahoo league last year and had no problems with it at all.

Donald Hayes the best WR out there????? Surely not above Alexander, Freeman, Morton, Hakim, Mathis, etc...
His track record as a WR would make him no more than a 2nd-tier signing...
Now, getting rid of Terry Glenn is probably as big a plus as any signing the Pats made!!!!
I knew someone would notice that. What I *should* have said (and remembered upon further reflection) is that at the time he was the best FREE AGENT receiver out there. Most of those other guys were traded or released after the free agent signing period started, which is when Hayes signed.
Plus, I *did* say "allegedly. | haz

The three are probably all related.

| #28 Posted on 18.7.02 0143.25 Reposted on: 18.7.09 0159.01 | I still for the life of me cannot understand why anyone would pick the BEARS over the PACKERS in the NFC North. The Pack has improved SO MUCH from last year when they got to the second round on the playoffs. Thier defense is unreal, and it DOESNT MATTER WHO BRETT FAVRE IS THROWING TO.
Had anyone heard of Robert Brooks before? How 'bout Antonio Freeman? Ok, how bout this, has anyone heard from the 'Spider' Andre Rison since he left Green Bay to play for the Chiefs? Bret Favre is the best QB in the league because he creates stars. Corey Bradford wouldnt have landed a contract had it not been for Favre. I have NO DOUBT in my mind that in a few years Fergusen, Driver, or Walker will be right up there with everyone else. Because of #4.
And Glenn? Glenn lost in the Super Bowl in his first year in the game to Bret Favre. When he started looking for new teams he stated he only wanted to play for the best QB in the league. Do you really think he wants to live in a small town in Wisconsin? I dont. I think he wants an amazing quarterback throwing him rockets all year long so he can get his game back.
Your damn right I think the Packers are going to win the Super Bowl. | Grimis

AFC East: New England (2) AFC North: Pittsburgh (1) AFC South: Tennessee (3) AFC West: Oakland (4) AFC Wildcard 1: Miami (5) AFC Wildcard 2: Indianapolis (6)
AFC Championship: Pittsburgh beats Oakland
NFC East: Philadelphia (2) NFC North: Green Bay (4) NFC South: Tampa Bay (3) NFC West: San Fransisco (1) NFC Wildcard 1: St. Louis (5) NFC Wildcard 2: Chicago (6)
NFC Championship: Phily beats Tampa
Super Bowl Champion: Pittsburgh beats Phily
I may be slightly biased, but I'm pretty sure of a couple of things - Tampa, Pittsburgh, and Philly WILL all do well. Green Bay will barely edge out Chicago for NFC North (or the other way around). Oakland will creep in but make splashes in the playoffs. St. Louis will fall apart long before the big dance.

Lemme channel Sophia from The Golden Girls for a sec: Picture it...Pontiac Silverdome, Nov. 22, 2001.
I'm shooting video from the far endzone, just before McMahon started that nearly-miracle-comeback against my beloved Packers, and the stands were SO quiet ("How quiet were they?") that a few fans actually started a "Let's-Go-Red-Wings (clap clap clap-clap-clap)" chant...and it started to get OVER!
If the then-winless Lions hadn't actually made an attempt at winning that game, the Fox network crew might have heard all those Octopi fans going nuts over hockey...in the middle of an NFL game.
No wonder that one guy on the other side of the stadium had a sign that read "GUYS: THIS AIN'T FUNNY ANY MORE."
Oh, and spf2119: Favre RULES. There's a real Super Bowl buzz here in Titletown, USA. Bears Still Suck! (TM) | Teppan-Yaki

Guru drops a Card Sharks reference... JOY!
Anyway, being a Bears fan, I will say this to Packer fans --
We still won the division, and if I eat my words on this I eat my words on this -- Bears will win the series this season. I would be more than happy to bet a Culver's concrete shake (go Hug a Cow) on that.
Or, to paraphrase Raiders Fan from Jim Rome's show -- Bears are going all the way! I say that every year. |
