Is it interviews? Is it "sneaky cameraman catches performers in unguarded moments?" I guess it's both.
I appreciate the concept but have a feeling that this will end up giving people headaches later - not the least of which will be the talent trying to explain their motivations behind the latest crazy shit which doesn't actually make sense.
All those Bischoff/Hervey credits really gives you the impression that they've cemented themselves within the TNA foundation for a while, which - and this is my opinion only, folks! - just really depresses me. TNA sure doesn't need them in anything beyond Bischoff playing a role which other people are writing for him (which he did very, VERY well on RAW, to the point where he even turned ME into taking up for him).
Granted, I haven't watched this promotion as closely as others, but has it only been recently that Dixie Carter has really fallen for the "mark for myself being on TV" thing, or has this been going on for a while now? I'm sure this keeps whoever keeps telling her she needs to be on TV in power, but I don't know how well it helps the product. (This is nothing dozens of people who actually pay attention have said, and said better, for a few weeks now I know.)
The other kinda weird thing about Reaction is...doesn't it totally expose iMPACT! as taped? Even all the "we'll try to get you an update on RVD before the end of the show" stuff didn't give ANY sort of "happening in real time" vibe, although maybe they were trying to give that impression. It just came off....kinda weird. We KNOW you didn't edit together all this stuff from the time iMPACT! went off the air until now, you know? Or am I just applying logic to professional wrestling again?
I think - I THINK I'm past watching pro wrestling television for its train wreck potential, so if I'm catching iMPACT! I probably will NOT stick around for "Reaction" in future weeks. But we'll see. Maybe I'll get tired of "Jersey Shore" reruns!
