We all saw Hebner do the "big X" with his arms last night to signal to the back and to the boys in the ring that Nash was hurt. But I was wondering: what does a wrestler do to tell the ref he is hurt or is not hurt?
I know Nash started screaming and clutching his knee, which is pretty obvious. But are there signs the wrestlers do to show the ref they are hurt? Actually, the one used most often would probably be some kind of "I'm not hurt" sign the wrestlers do when the ref goes to check on them after a big move.
Does anyone know? I would be interested to look for them.

Couldn't they just TELL the ref "I'm hurt" or "I'm ok"?

Nash never sells anyway, so Hebner immediately knew something was up.

I saw in this puro match once where this guys arm just fell right off. Does that count as a sign? When you actually lose an appendage?

hebner ran over to check, and i know it all went down like this:

"Sup dawg"
"Yo, somebody call my momma"
"True dat. Can ya walk it off"
"Nah dawg, I think I best be here, it might be broke"
"Word"

And then hebner throws up the X

But look at the experience of the other wrestlers. They knew the finish. They knew that there would be no "Injury angle"

They saw that half the finish went down with bad luck. they all charged the ring to rumble and cover the dead finish. plus it gives them a chance to bounce ideas off each other.

bubba ran to check on nash, and the camera tried to move to the right to cover that, because you couldn't see him pounding on nash. Pac covered for that by kicking him in the head. but, like CRZ noted, HBK whipped GD, who then spread the word to the others as to the new finish

the 9 of them (RVD was on the ramp, but his team of 4, and nash's team of 4 + HBK) should be commended for their fine cover of nash and putting together something when everything fell apart

Actually, Heb did the "X" to call out New Jack to clear the ring. But the WWE does not have "Natural Born Killas" on CD, so that was scrapped for the Sweet Chin Music and Chokeslam.

We could have had a New Jack/Spike reunion!!!

Big splashes off the balcony for everyone!!!

Alot of times you can see the refs asking wrestlers if they are ok.

I can't wait to see the replay of RAW (or one of the weekend shows) so I can LAUGH at Nash. I mean...wow...Scott Keith was actually right on the money: karma meet Nash.

Or maybe my sense of humor is skewed. For my money, there's nothing funnier than seeing Jason Biggs hit a kid in the face with a trombone in American Pie 2...or seeing Booker T do the spinaroonie.

Well, Shawn was known for faking injuries during his matches. The wrestlers did hesitate for a split second, thinking at first that Nash was doing something that Shawn sauggested. Remember, Nash didn't know he was working a match until that afternoon. But when Heb put up what somebody here referred to as the Gangstas sign (very funny), that's when the wrestlers stormed the ring.
