I can't remember the last time a Week 1 schedule was harder to nail down. This has "massacre" potential, especially if the Dolphins (the only team close to a sure thing this week) drop their game to the Bills.

Yeah, the first week is NASTY. I'm in a different pool (my brother runs it) and really wasn't happy with anything. Going with Chicago. I heard Cowherd on ESPN radio do a whole thing on how bad Week 1 is for these pools as well; I'm not used to hearing sports radio talk about suicide pools in any depth.

Y'know this is BULL-SHIT. I went back and checked; I am 4 for the last 4 picking the home team in the opener, so as far as I'm concerned, week 1 is the easiest, most automatic pick to make.
But you're A) losing the Saints for the entire season, and B) you're picking them against a team that last time they played (in the same location) it went to overtime. It's not a no-brainer, regardless of the results.
Of course, I have just cursed my Chicago pick. I'm strangely okay with that. :)
