The other players to achieve this are Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan and Steve Nash. (Russell, Chamberlain and Bird won it three years in a row). Promote this thread! | | The Game

| #2 Posted on 1.5.10 0842.02 Reposted on: 1.5.17 0843.20 | No surprises here; LeBron became the first forward in NBA history to average at least 8 assists a game, and not to mention he averaged over 7 boards a game and had nearly had 30 points a contest.
The Cavs won 61 games and homecourt throughout the playoffs (but only a ring for the King will suffice for this season). Anyway, LeBron's ability to take over a game is perhaps only bested by Kobe Bryant but even that is debatable.
LeBron joins 7 hall-of-famers and 2 future hall-of-famers in winning the MVP in consecutive seasons. LeBron easily won the award last season but I am curious to see how much he wins by this season. | ekedolphin

True, but as I recall correctly there are no Hall-of-Fame eligible players who've won the MVP award even once and not gotten into the Hall of Fame. | Psycho Penguin

Have to wonder if Dirk's gonna change that one day. | ekedolphin

Howard, on the other hand, is an indefensible pick. No surprise that his votes all came from people literally on the Magic payroll. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
