I just got back from the NWA-TNA show.

And I was just about 5 feet away from Jeff Jarrett and Scott Hall(Who is one of my favorites),you might have seen me,If you saw a spider-man visor on and was standing next to a big guy in red that was me but anyway here's the question.

How close have you been to a wrestler?

I have that and I was close to Tommy Dreamer and Lance Storm when they came in though the crowd at a ECW show here in Nashville. And Also Sandman came out like 5 rows behind me,It was cool. Also my dad(The big guy in red)worked in Jeff Jarrett house right after he got all his hair cut off off.

Well anyway see the question above and answer.

Thanks for reading,
ICEMAN

EDIT: BTW,Scott Hall is a big MOFO.

uh, well i've shook owen hart, bret hart, hulk hogan, the hurricane, mighty molly, michael hayes, and the hardy boyz hands. um, and at a house show in 1999, i gave jeff a hug (BROTHERS GOTTA HUG, MAN!). i got to "hang out" with them for about 20 minutes after they did an autograph session (which i was first in line for cause i thought it was going to be someone SPECIAL!).

i've also met many aspiring wrestlers, but they aren't famous so it doesn't count =).

Sadly, I'm not friends with any of these people. What might have been..

When I was growing up I lived about 30 seconds from Magnum TA. He was older than me by about 10 years so we didn't hang out of course. Still talked to him once and while when he came home. Great guy.

I met Lou Thesz a few times as he lived in this area as well. About twice a year the local ESPN station would interview him and I could see him that time.

Back in the day of NWA when the wrestled at Scope every Friday night, all the wrestlers would go to a bar called Roads Gallery after the show. Again, my age kept me from meeting these guys, but we did get to shake their hands and say high every week. That was cool, particularly the Nature Boy. He really was a high flyer.

Um... various stuff:

Do autographs count? If that is the case
- New Age Outlaws
- Sunny
- British Bulldog
- Chris Jericho
- Bret Hart
- Chris Benoit
- Rhyno

Non autograph stuff includes meeting the entire Hart Foundation and The Honky Tonk Man (they were in the same limo) a few years back.

There was one time I stood there dumbfounded while my friend got to yap with Steve Austin as he was sitting in a Jeep Cherokee waiting for someone. I was in outright shock watching her yap with Austin.

Um... yapped with Edge in HMV a couple of years ago. Then saw him six months later and had a beer with him, Christian and a few of my buddies after a house show at Hard Rock Cafe.

Got pictures taken with Hardcore Holly, Tajiri and Billy Kidman during Axxess this past year. The Security Guard wasn't pleased with my blatant disregard for the "stay away from the guardrail" rule but all the wrestlers were good guys and hooked up the pictures.

I was at the OVW Rock and Rumble back in the summer of 2000, so I ran down to the aisle when Kane made his entrance. He is quite the monster.

DDP did a master's tea at my school, so I sat near the front (where he was speaking), and afterwards he posed for pictures with people, including myself, about to put them in the Diamond Cutter. It was pretty awesome, except that when my picture got developed, it looked like my face was Photoshopped in between his arms. He even recorded a promo for my radio show, so that was really awesome. He is huge, but he looked like a friendly guy.

I met the Nature Boy himself in the parking lot after the Citrus Bowl a few years ago. I was kind of surprised that I was taller than him (I was a freshman in high school at the time).

I got you all beat. I've met Andre the Giant. He toured through Lethbridge, AB in early 1990 when he and Haku held the tag belts. He was friggin huge. They had to bring in a slab on concrete for him to sit on, all the chairs couldn't support his weight. The same night, I also met Jim Duggan, Tito Santana and Iron Mike Sharpe (all of whom are huge).

On a smaller note, Mahkan Singh ran through the crowd at a Stampede Match right past me. I've also met the Gothic Knight.

1982 Chicago Amphitheater AWA show
Andre was in town to wrestle Bockwinkel or participate in a battle royal and we had seats right on the entrance aisle. He walked out for his match and paused for a few seconds right in front of us. He looked at me and my friends who were going crazy (we're about 13 at the time) and he reached out at us to shake hands. I put my hand on his wrist and it went about one-third of the way around. He was huge!

1985 indy show Grayslake, IL
Parked next to Ox Baker, he was quite gracious for a monster heel.

So I was at the Hart dungeon taking a look at the place, and introducing myself for when I go next fall...

And down the staires comes Stu.

He used my shoulder for support when he walked by me, and used my other shoulder for support when he sat down beside me.

I didn't freak out though... I kept myself calm, and after a couple minutes of my heart beating like mad...

He was just a regular guy... just like the rest of them there.

It was fantastic.

Second live show. I don't remember what year, but it was my birthday. The tix were a gift... floor seats, no less.

I touched Hacksaw Jim Duggan when he was walking around the ring.

In most cases, that would be checkmate, but I see I've been outclassed. Oh, and I had Mo sign a program at an indy show a few years ago, when they were still with the WWF. I forget who else was there, but MOM was. Of course, he signed it in black Sharpie, on the darkest part of the program.

Cool story. Did you get stretched out? I'd hate to think you drove that far and didn't get twisted up like a pretzel.

Sadly no, I didn't get stretched out... they were doing a training session that day, and I don't think they really had time to get around to me. And I think that Stu's beyond his stretching days... I wonder if Bruce has taken over that job? Hm... well, when I go, though, my day will come!

I did take the initiative to do a few bumps on the mat after practice was over... the wrestlers there were really confused 'cause they'd never seen a newbie come in who knew how to bump properly. I said it came from Jiu Jitzu which is true... but I failed to mention the... *cough* backyard wrestling *cough*.

Chris Benoit stood face to face with me...or more accurately he stood face to chin with me. I couldn't believe how short he was in person. This was countered though with amazement at how thick he was. He really makes up for the lack of height with a thickness that is just hard to believe. I bet I could have taken him though...*he had just had neck surgery three weeks ago, but who's counting?*

When I was 11, I met Corp. Kirshcner at Pearson Airport in Toronto. Both of us had our luggage lost. Mine was found a day later, and I never found out what happened to his luggage. It's a question that still haunts me to this day.

For non-airport meetings, I've encountered Edge, Christian, Rhyno (then Rhino Richards) and Just Joe (then Joe E. Legend) at indy shows.

I met Mick Foley on his college speaking tour in Feb 2001 at West Chester University. And I met Kurt Angle at a book signing late last summer.

My friend worked for the First Union Center and we got to follow him downstairs after RAW a few months ago. While we waited by the doorway for him, Molly, Dean Malenko, Michael Hayes, Pat Patterson, and Arn Anderson all walked by us.
