-AJ Styles and Ric Flair cut a promo. They're interrupted by Hulk Hogan and Abyss. Hogan tosses around Viagra jokes, because the age thing just isn't glaring enough. They build hype for Hogan and Flair getting in the ring again. Flair says he's never beaten Hulk on national television. That CAN'T be true, can it? In 15 years? Man, that's sad if it is. Eric Bischoff comes out and makes a Four Corners match for the title tonight with AJ, Abyss, Desmond Wolfe, and D'Angelo Dinero.
-Desmond Wolfe promo. He doesn't have to beat the man to be the man tonight.
-We catch up with Eric Bischoff on the tail end of talking about starting a football league before realizing what a dumb idea it is. Oh, it's an XFL joke! In 2010! OH MAN, THAT'S EDGY! SIGN ME UP FOR MONDAY NIGHTS! Anyway, Jeff Jarrett walks in and Bischoff gives him janitorial duty. Jarrett grudgingly takes his broom and walks.
-Beer Money d. Hernandez & Morgan, Generation ME, and The MCMG in a non-title Four Corners match when Roode rolls up Morgan after a Storm superkick.
-Bischoff tells Sean Morley and Slick Johnson to find Jarrett for an impromtu No DQ, falls count anywhere match.
-Kurt Angle talks to Hulk backstage. He volunteers to fill in for him this Monday, but Hulk declines.
-Mick Foley gets etiquette lessons. Alleged hilarity ensues, though God bless Mick for trying.
-Sean Morley d. Jeff Jarrett in a No DQ Falls Count Anywhere match after Morley ambushes Jarrett in the bathroom.
-D'Angelo Dinero hypes his match with AJ at Lockdown and tonight's match. He promises to take care of Flair if he interferes. THE POPE HAS SPOKEN!
-Rob Terry d. Doug Williams clean in a two-minute special. Wait...seriously?
-Bischoff tells Jarrett he's wrestling again later tonight.
-Ken Anderson comes to the ring for a promo dressed like Angle, complete with faux medal. Anderson does an Angle impression and talks about Kurt being the most injury prone guy on the roster. Wait, stop just a second. KEN ANDERSON, of all people, is going to cut a promo about another guy being injury prone with a straight face? Who thought THIS was a good idea? Anderson then talks about Kurt only pretending to care about the troops for sympathy, as we get dangerously close to "tasteless" territory. Kurt comes down to confront Anderson, but gets laid out after the dreaded beer to the face and Angle Slam. Anderson steals Kurt's medal.
-Abyss gives Hulk an inspirational speech. Hulk is inspired. We get the manly hug to end this segment.
-Video from earlier today shows Angelina Love getting jumped by the Beautiful People. Velvet Sky is noticeably more psychotic than last week. This segues into a Love promo, where she gets jumped by the BP again. Second verse, same as the first.
-Bubba the Love Sponge talks to Hulk Hogan. He calls him a liar. I can totally see why TNA sacked Awesome Kong for this clown.
-Jeff Jarrett d. Tomko with a fluke sunset flip. Jarrett is noticeably being booed at this point, as even the iMPACT Zone crowd can see what the endgame is here. And poor Tomko. Has he even won a match since his return? I really don't get why they'd job Tomko and have Morley beat Jarrett earlier in the night. Why not switch things around and have TOMKO beat Jarrett in the bathroom and have MORLEY do the job later? Hell, it even works better because Tomko's a BIG GUY (insert fat joke here) and a bathroom beating could get him over as a monster. Tomko's got a lot more upside than Morley at this point, even with the extra pounds. Why waste Tomko like this?
-Bischoff tries to talk Hogan out of Monday's match, but no dice.
-AJ Styles d. D'Angelo Dinero, Desmond Wolfe, and Abyss via ref stoppage after Styles applies the figure four to Dinero. Hogan comes down and helps Abyss clear the ring to end the show.
This show did not inspire me with confidence for Monday's show. Some of the decisions tonight were just baffling. Why on earth would they job their X Division champion clean in less than 2 minutes? Why are they so dead set on pushing Rob Terry as a face when no one cares about him and no one cares about the guy he's feuding with? Why are they recycling the old "Heel steals Kurt's medals" storyline? Where the hell was Samoa Joe? This show wasn't as bad as some of the past weeks, but man, are there problems.
The main problem being...what is the POINT of their major storylines? What's the plan, in the grand scheme of things? Does Mick going to etiquette school lead anywhere? Does Jarrett going to the bottom result in anything, aside from a world title program that has "bad idea" written all over it? Is the endgame REALLY for Hogan to retire, does Hogan wind up wrestling full-time again, or does it end with a one-on-one Hogan/Flair match, just to make Bret/Vince look like Flair/Steamboat circa 1989 in comparison? I just don't have any idea where all of these storylines are leading to and I have a bad feeling that they don't, either.
The RVD and Jeff Hardy signings are encouraging, though. They can't do anything but help at this point.

Better still, have Jarrett beat Morely *first*, then have the frustrated heels sic Tomko on Jarrett. More heel heat, more protection for everybody.

There's just nothing going on here that interests me. The storyline stuff all involves people I don't care about. The matches are go-nowhere, do-nothing two-minute specials.
I like all four guys in the Main Event and am happy that they're being (at least ostensibly) pushed, but the match was in large part about Hogan and Flair, two of the guys I just no longer have any interest in.
Originally posted by StaggerLee Did they ever mention Samoa Joe?
Yeah, during the Main Event, they said that Joe would probably be in the match if he hadn't been vanished. Taz wondered aloud if anyone had called the authorities yet (!).

To be fair, Rob Terry is a champion, too. I don't think he's good or anything, but he sure is big! At least he's not running out during X Division matches and "breaking" everyone's ankles. (Well, he might if they ever have another X Division match.)

I don't know the back of the story, but the Rob Terry beats the little guy thing didn't look too surprising. That dude is HUGE. Not a ton of personality though. I gather they were once aligned?
Dug the girls segments. Kind of a ladies NWO thing.
I was mildly amused by Ken Anderson, although I was talking to the wife at the time and had the sound off.
I thought they built to Hogan being in the ring monday well. The talks he had with Bubba (I had heard about him, but never seen him before) and Eric were ok. I found it interesting that Bubba called him Terry. Is that a regular thing? I thought Hogan was being pretty restrained. I thought Hulk's reasons for Bisch were about right.
At the end of the four way, Hogan getting in the ring was tricky. I don't know if he is that bad (It wouldn't surprise me) or if they played it for Monday a bit. Flair did his thing as expected. I wonder many times he has bladed over the years?

He pinned Hogan on Nitro back in early 96 thanks to Elizabeth's high heeled shoe. Arn Anderson beat Hogan twice in 1996 once by Dq and even pinned him thanks to Elizabeth's high heels. Poor Savage never pinned Hogan all those years they feuded. I recall The WWE spoofing that when they had The Huckster and The Nacho Man stuff.

Sean Morley and Roxxi are the latest names gone from TNA. Roxxi hadn't worked for the company since breaking her ankle in December 2009 during the New Year's Eve Knockout Impact taping. I am told she was not under contract during her most recent run.
Morley finished up at the last TV Taping, where he pinned Jeff Jarrett in a Falls Count Anywhere match backstage. On his Facebook page, Morley wrote that the departure was due to Morley taking dates in Mexico. Morley wrote, "Yes folks, I am now through for now with TNA as I want to wrestle in Mexico. I was going to perform in both TNA and CMLL but now with the switch to Mondays for TNA, and the fact that TNA had nothing solid yet, Mexico here I come!"
Morley debuted during the live Impact in January. ----------------------------------------------------- | It's False

You would think that squashing the WWE jobber for two months would have been worth the whole 'LOL WWE Sukz', but I guess having the guy that can't win in the WWE come over and beat uppercard TNA talent makes more sense.

Brand New Day. Daniels stopped being "Main Event Talent" the instant that Hogan and Bischoff took over. As far as they're concerned, Daniels has no "credibility."

CMLL runs a C-level show on Monday in Puebla, which is no big deal missing. They also run B-level shows on Sundays in Mexico City and Guadalajara, but as long he was free to CMLL on Fridays nights (CMLL's main show), CMLL could schedule around most anything else. Unless there's news about to come out, they'll probably be doing exactly that for Sarita/Dark Angel. I'm sure schedule was a factor, but it probably wasn't the only one.
Not totally sure CMLL's taking Morley at this point. He was supposed to come in November, but ended up canceling due to family reasons. It was a totally legitimate excuse, but it seemed like CMLL found out about second hand and didn't get a clear explanation. CMLL hasn't mentioned him since, so I'd bet he had no firm plans to go to Mexico when he beat Daniels. | Greymarch

Yeah, but they did put Morley over Daniels (and, perhaps more damningly, over Jeff Jarrett!) without insuring that he would be there longer than two months.
It's one of TNA's worst habits and one that I thought they had broken -- bringing guys in, not signing them to contracts, putting them over their own guys, and then watching them walk away. They did it with Test, Rikishi, Shannon Moore, and I'm sure a couple of others that I'm not remembering.
It's just silly.
