The Saints do still have New England & Dallas at home and Atlanta on the road but I don't see them losing all 3. Pierre Thomas has given fand reason to remember Deuce and not miss him. All the wideouts can catch the ball and so can the DB's.

If the Saints win it all, Bourbon Street may finally implode....

Screw it. I'll play Devil's Advocate.

Of the teams they've played this year I'd expect only Philly* to make the playoffs and the Eagles were missing a ton of players for that game.

Their defence has given up more points than the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers.

They've won a few shootouts on the back of turnovers. That tends not to last, and is rarely a recipe for success in the playoffs.

Basically, they are the Indianapolis Colts of a few years ago when the media would hype the crap out of them for the regular season then look on in astonishment when they bombed out of the playoffs.

They're very good, but also overrated.

Time might prove me wrong but I'd happily put money on the Ravens, Pats, Colts, Steelers, Vikings and Eagles winning the Superbowl before I would bet on the Saints.

*The Falcons might get enough Ws too thanks to the crapiness of Tampa and Carolina, but they ain't a particularly good team.

Yea the Eagles had some injuries, but they also lost to the R A I D E R S when healthy. If you are going to say the Saints are over-rated hype now, Shouldn't you put the Viks, Pats, and Cowboys(Needed O.T. to beat Cheifs) in that same catergory?. Oh and if you are comparing them to the Colts of a couple of years ago, Well the Colts got their ring a couple of years ago.

Just saying, We should see. Just happy that we are winning for a change. The game at ATL will be tough, maybe our first losss.

Given that two of them are at home, I'd actually expect the Saints to win those games, making 16-0 a realistic possibility. (Of course, now that I've jinxed it, they'll probably get upset by Carolina this weekend.)

The Colts, for the record, have five games left I'd consider to be tough...at home against Houston, New England and Denver, and on the road in Baltimore and Houston.

There is a zero percent chance it happens, but imagine if we had two 18-0 teams squaring off in the Super Bowl? That would be the craziest thing ever.

See, they weren't healthy. Not close. The O-line was a combination of the second-string and the hurting, Donovan was still gimpy and we still had the ongoing carousel at MLB.

None of that takes away from the fact it was a horrible result though, and mostly I've just tried to blank the game from my mind.

If you are going to say the Saints are over-rated hype now, shouldn't you put the Viks, Pats, and Cowboys(needed O.T. to beat Chiefs) in that same category?

I don't think I even mentioned the Cowboys (although they're playing worryingly well right now) but the other two I would give the edge to come playoff time.

Cut through the Favre hype and the Viks are actually built to do well against the Saints. Very strong offensive line, outstanding running and a dominating D, particularly along the front four. The Pats I would give the edge simply based on experience and coaching.

More generally, people will get WAY too hung up on one bad result for some teams, while teams that are currently unbeaten will be lauded even when there are fairly obvious flaws in that team.

And for every article praising the Saints now there'll be two analysing how someone "finally figured out the Saints" if and when they eventually lose. There is no figuring out to be done. Teams ALREADY know how to beat the Saints - solid defence, put pressure on Drew, run the ball effectively and avoid turnovers.

Of course this is easier said than done, but history tells us that come playoff time, a high-octane offense backed by a D that generates turnovers but gives up a ton of points is not often succesful.

Oh and if you are comparing them to the Colts of a couple of years ago, Well the Colts got their ring a couple of years ago.

I said "a few" meaning more than two, referring to the Colts of earlier in the decade. The season the Colts finally broke through was because their D got hot at the right time and went from being completely porous to stopping the run dead.

Just saying, We should see. Just happy that we are winning for a change. The game at ATL will be tough, maybe our first losss.

Indeed, and I wish you the best of luck. If the Eagles don't win it I can't think of a team I'd rather see win the SB than the Saints, I just don't see it happening unless their D improves a lot is all.
