According to info from ABC News, a British Sky News interview with a man claiming to be the infant's uncle claims the picture is authentic.
I remember a few months ago, Maxim Magazine showed a picture of a young kid, probably around age 7 or so, at a Hamas rally. Yes, the kid was dressed in fake explosives.

(In my psychology class, we watched a video of children's programming featuring children dressed in fake explosives, screaming "Jihad!" and swearing to spill the blood of Israel. Really a charming show.)
And then some douchebag starts blathering on about how, in that culture, at least they raise their children to be "productive members of society" rather than "whores like Britney Spears".
He also said, on September 12th, how he really can't get too upset when a bunch of bankers die.

Yes, it was so much better when Stalin was killing millions of Russian citizens, just pumping them full of lead and leaving them on the side of the road. Or perhaps before that, during the Holocaust, the world was in a much better state then. And so on, and so forth.
There have always been f'd up people with the power to influence others(*looks at the Hamas in this case*), and there will probably always be f'd up people with the power to influence others. It might be a damn shame, but it's quite simply just the way things are. | Torach

He's the only thing keeping what stability they have there. Wait for someone from Hamas to take control, and you'll see a true war. | Jaguar

Palestine will never be able to fight a successful war with Israel without some kind of weapon of mass destruction be it nuclear/chemical/biological in nature. Palestine will have to contiune to resort to terrorist actions until they are all killed/absorbed by Israel or are granted their own country. Then they could actually build their own military and conduct their killing or Israelies more civilly.

If Palestine want a state that badly, maybe they should try to STOP the terrorists who go out and blow up Israeli civilians and those who fund and support those terrorists, rather than say nothing about it.
Speaking of homicide bombing, there haven't been any homicide bombings yet, since Israel decided to go into the settlements where those terrorist cells are. Interesting. | Jaguar

| #17 Posted on 9.7.02 1850.20 Reposted on: 9.7.09 1859.02 | Now while I don't support terrorist actions, or killing in general, what would Palestinians gain by deciding to stop terrorist actions against Israel? Would Israel just magically decide to give up some of the territory they control to allow Palestine it's own nation? Hardly. If there was never another terrorist bomb, never a rock thrown at Israeli border guards for the next fifty years, there would probably still not be a Palestinian state. Israel is not interested in mending fences with Palestine, or trying to get along with them at all. They proved that by electing Ariel Sharon. To get their own state, and out from under Israel's control, Palestine needs some leverage. There's no money in Palestine, and Israel is buddies with the US, so there's no first world countries arguing on their behalf. So the method they use? Violence and death. I don't agree with that choice, but I do agree that it produces leverage when they had none to begin with. Whether it's enough leverage, or even in the right direction, I guess we'll just find out.

| #18 Posted on 9.7.02 2111.44 Reposted on: 9.7.09 2120.21 | Yeah, it looks like the only real solution is to get someone in a position of power to not only come out in support of a Palestinian state, but also to tell Israel that if they don't back off, they're getting their asses whupped too. IIRC, the terrorist's complaint was our unquestioned support of Israel. When I went to DC this past January, and visited the Saudi Arabian embassy, a spokesman there claimed that Israel's violated more UN conventions than anyone else. Whether or not that's true, it might actually be. Now their methods are unconscionable, but maybe they have a point. Didn't we say that the attacks could lead us into a new era of awareness? (Sure, we said that wouldn't last...)
Anyway, the point is Bush needs to not only say Palestinians deserve a state, but that Israel needs to lay off. And, of course, since that won't be enough, whup both sides's asses equally if/when they start going at it. It's hard to keep the peace where there is none, after all. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
