I am a Tribe fan, and I'll follow them even if they suck. I won't pay money to go *see* them, but I will still follow the scores and root that they win. Did so before '94, will continue to do so.
That said, I am really, really bothered by this trade. Thome is obviously next to go (any takers?), with Finley to follow. This team is about to be gutted, and hit hard.
I just cannot believe that they went to these lengths, when they could have contended this year in the exceptionally weak Central Division.
The worst part is now my summer will be spent counting down the days until anything Browns related instead of being able to root hard for the Tribe.

You get to see young players make rookie mistakes interspersed with tremendous athletic plays. You get to interact more with the true fans. And you get the good seats. It only becomes depressing when you feel like the rebuilding is not leading anywhere (Milwaukee, anyone?), but that's not Cleveland's situation. | whatever

I am just worried if they are cutting costs right now and saying the payroll will depend on the ticket sales, then the Tribe will be stuck in a spiral to perpetual mediocrity. As for Cleveland, as a die hard Twins fan (and many times over the last 10 years, it's been tough), I'm glad to see them in first place, and (crosses fingers) have a large enough lead so that they don't fall out of the race. I see playoff baseball in my future. :) | drjayphd

Yeah, he's expected to refuse any trade offers to Boston (where we could REALLY use him... Tony Clark, shame on me for being fooled by your history at Fenway...). Can't blame him, though... think a part of him wants to help the rebuilding process go a little smoother? I know he doesn't want to leave Cleveland... | SerWolfe
