Smackdown

-The show begins with highlights of the Fatal Fourway from last week. I missed it...but it looked good.

-Teddy has Rey in the ring. Rey says that Jeff was the better man last week...but he's still still awaiting challengers for his IC title. Jericho comes out and says he's the face of Smackdown. He insults Teddy Long saying he's a "fly by night GM" or something liek that (oh, snap...?) Jericho demands a title shot. From Rey? Anyhow, Jeff comes out and says that if Jericho can beat him tonight, he'd be added to the title match at Judgement Day.

Match 1: -Mike Knox d. R-Truth in a quickie match. I swear, R-Truth's entrance was longer than this match. What's up indeed.

Match 2: -Michelle McCool d. Gail Kim via Faith Breaker. The womens division deserves matches that are longer than three minutes. Especially Gail Kim.

-Josh Matthews interviews Jeff Hardy. In a nutshell: Jericho's nonsense ends tonight, and everyone will talk about Hardy winning the title. Riiiiiight.

-Edge storms into Teddy Long's office. Edge is complaining about Jericho being involved. Teddy mentions CM Punk almost cashing in the MitB. Long then decrees that we'll see Edge vs Punk tonight.

Match 3: -John Morrison d. Charlie Haas. Wow, Shelton Benjamin is with him. Could we be seeing the WGTT reunited again, for the third time third time third time? I swear, everytime they break off, they break, they never fight, they never turn on each other. BORING! Anyhow, John wins with a beautiful corkscrew moonsault. He kicks ass.

And...CM Punk is Walking~!

Match 4: -CM Punk d. Edge by countout. Edge abandoned the match to lose by CO...but Umaga decided to demolish Punk.

-Cryme Time does their usual schtick, and introduces Layla and Eve for an armwrestling contest. It was pretty even until Layla started some heelish stuff (her elbow hurt, it was wrapped so they started over)...until Eve won. Being a sore loser, Layla gave Eve a wicked neckbreaker. Ouch.

Match 5: -The Great Khali d. Dolph Ziggler by DQ. Beforehand, Dolph comes out and offers an open challenge. He says he can beat anyone; he's premier superstar, and nobody will forget his name. The Great Khali comes out (incredible reaction from the crowd) and proceeds to beat the tar out of Dolph before Dolph gets a chair and beats the tar out of Khali!

Match 6: -Jeff Hardy beat Chris Jericho in an awesome fifteen minute or so match. It was pretty back and forth until the end, when Jeff won with a Twist of Fate. It looked kinda botched though.

Show ends with Mysterio jumping Jericho.

--all in all, I thought this was a decent Smackdown. Jericho vs. Hardy was awesome...but I was hoping for a bit more of the Jericho/Morrison story, but if they keep that for the future, I'm happy.

They fought already on WGN America's Superstars show where Jericho won w/ the Codebreaker when Shelton distracted Morrison from the Tron. "Gotcha!"

Heh, yeah I always seem to remember that it is on at about 7:50. I'd actually like to watch it too.

Today, Sunday, at noon is a repeat of Thursday's show. If people would be interested, I could do a quick and dirty recap, unless someone else wants to take it up.

Do it I never catch the show...and I don't have WGN. I know some cableco's here carry WGN, but is it the same WGN that shows Superstars? I remember the WGN I watched was a Chicago station or something, part of the CW network? I dunno...
