| #8 Posted on 23.6.02 0059.56 Reposted on: 23.6.09 0103.41 | Well, did you see the 9th? Luis Castillo on deck, game tied at 4, runner on second. Wild pitch, runner moves to 3rd. Tim Raines hits a sac fly, Marlins win, Castillo doesn't get a fifth AB. I think he'll take the win over the streak, though. | Big Bad

I don't know about that. He seemed pretty bummed out after the game. | dunkndollaz

| #13 Posted on 24.6.02 1946.24 Reposted on: 24.6.09 1955.37 | 1)I'm bitter that you homies have not given me the proper respect for predicting the end of the streak.
2)If Castillo cared more about winning than his streak, he would have been celebrating the win with the rest of his teammates instead of staring off into space like a boy who lost his dog while Jeff Torborg then Cliff Floyd consoled him.
3)If he cared more about winning than his streak, he wouldn't be upset that the Tigers were going to walk him rather than allow him to get a potential game-winning hit.
Castillo is a really good ball player, but let this streak go to his head, and it became all about him and not about the team.

Yes. When Molitor's 39(?) game hitting streak ended in 1987, he was on deck in the 10th as Rick Manning drove in the winning run.
