| #2 Posted on 22.6.02 0330.32 Reposted on: 22.6.09 0336.01 | I have to say that I expected the Pads to be much better this year... I expected around .500, with a shot at the division against relatively weak competition. Lawrence and Tomko have pitched like good #1 and 2 guys, but the other starters have given that advantage away with horrendous work. Moreover, the offense has really gone down the tubes. The years that young players like Burroughs and Jimenez are coming up with are not terribly encouraging, not to mention an inexplicable off-year from the "pure hitter" Trammell. I think the Pads are one of the best run teams in baseball, if you look at their talent vs. their payroll. Hopefully, they can have better luck with injuries and off-years next season. Arizona has made some good decisions lately (like playing Durazo and Spivey), so that makes them a lot tougher, but they are not unapproachable either in my opinion. | DMC

Schilling and Johnson will win tons of games and make it impossible to catch them. Thus, the World Series champs will return to the playoffs. I have no faith in the Giants anymore, and have stopped thinking about miracle Dusty finishes after last year. The west will go to Arizona and I won't even sweat it. That's it and that's all.

Hey, that gives me a great idea for the next time I come out for the Comicon. Unfortunately, it won't be this year. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
