The funny thing is that, when they traded him, they basically said it was because he lacked power. (As I recall, he hit like eight homers his first year.)
The doubly funny thing is that the guy they basically went with instead was Mark Grace, who, although a good player, usually struggled to meet the bare minimum power-hitting requirements for a first baseman. | spf
