Unlike most wrestlers, Bourne actually performs a backflip correctly, as in: he jumps up and as he's reaching the top of his jump, he swings his knees up to his chin and tucks, causing his body to rotate backwards in a compact position. This is how gymnasts perform a backflip because it's the safest and most effective technique. Most wrestlers (even the good high-flyers)try to jump and rotate at the same time in an almost completely open (untucked) position, and the end result is not as pretty, even if it successful. You're kind of right. I was thinking about his standing backflip splash when I was comparing him to other wrestlers who do backflips. The SSP is done from the top rope and with the extra height/spring it doesn't need the tuck nearly as much. He does, however reach all the way back and place his hands against his feet, putting his body in a better shape to rotate. Kidman never did this, which is part of the reason why Kidman never had as much control. (Kidman also had a very bad habit of twisting his body slightly as he jumped, causing his body to go sideways in mid-air.
Anyway, the point is that no matter the style, Bourne performs a backflip like someone who is trained to do it, and Kidman always looked like someone who taught himself. | Skarecrow

But then I'm an adknowledged brock lesnar mark. stupid big oaf.
Didn't Kidman have a feud with some other wrestler (Was it paul london?), pretty much entirely around how dangerous his SSP was, and then london (or whoever) ended the feud by doing a SSP that put kidman's to shame?
Side note, I was kind of hoping that, underneath that black jacket and towel he had on, Haas had one of those joke-gift set of fake boobs on. I'm sorry, but with Big Daddy V gone, I'm pretty sure that JBL has the largest set of manbreasts in the WWE.
Also, World Champion Chris Jericho is ten flavors of win.
Edit: brain fart.

I guess Cole (and maybe Lawler) has probably never seen that Japanese guy with the body suit that also used to do the move. | dMp

Lesnar's shooting star press (when he did hit it) was great to look at because there is a 295lb guy doing it. But it's not as good as Bourne's. No way.
Kidman's (as discussed above) is not as good as Bourne's. London might be close but he's forgotten so not as good as Bourne. Don't recall seeing Liger's but yeah he doesn't exist in WWE so Lawler & Cole will have never seen it.
So...I agree with them. Nobody does a SSP as good as Bourne. | Big Bad
