Never played Mario baseball. I bet it would be fun but I don't think I'd play it enough to justify buying it. Same with that Mario soccer game. Tiger Woods, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind checking out the reviews for that. I nerded out over Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf back in the day, and I secretly like Tiger Woods on the DS. I'd play real golf in real life but I really hate it, probably because I'm so bad at it.

As for the Virtual Console this week, meh. From what I can tell, the Super Mario Lost Levels game came out in Europe before as a limited-time offer deal, but now it's available for good. Lucky you, Europe.

Since I'm bored, here are my thoughts on Volume 1 of Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People:
- This game is short. I played through it in about three hours and that included stopping to switch the laundry over, make food, etc. I do still have a few hidden things left to find [three trophies (for the Chort) and two Teen Girl Squad panels] but that's about it.
- It's pretty funny if you like that whole Homestar thing. Which I still do, so yay. It needed more Strong Mad and The Cheat but I suppose everyone has their favourites.
- I didn't find the puzzles to be all that challenging. Not once did I even consider looking online for hints, and I get frustrated easily. And I am no pro at point-and-click adventure games - the last one I played was Maniac Mansion on the NES.
- Ultimately, the downloadable game model doesn't really work in the customer's favour. I understand the concept; five episodes would be as long as a (short) normal game and would cost the same as a normal game (5 x $10 = $50). But here's the thing... I wouldn't buy the physical disk at $49.99. I'd wait for a price drop. And given that this game appears to have pretty minimal replay value, I'd trade it off once I was done with it... only, since it's a download, I can't do that. Nor can I loan it to a friend. And you can't go to Blockbuster and rent it.
- Having said that, I'll probably buy the other installments. $10 for an evening of gaming compares favourably to the cost of going to a movie, and the game was better than some movies I've spent money to see.
- Nintendo needs to work on some sort of better external storage (or some kind of hard drive). The first volume was over 300 blocks and I had to move some Virtual Console games to my SD card to clear space. This is not the biggest hardship in the world, but presumably they will want me to buy more games as time passes (and I will do it as I am a chump).
