Torrie Wilson has been released by WWE. Isn't she having real bad back problems right now? So this might be the best thing for her maybe.

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Torrie Wilson as of today, May 8, 2008.

We wish Torrie the best in all her future endeavors

Plus, she's getting up there in Diva-years. And she never really got much better at the wrestling part of the game, so it's not really that big of a loss. Kind of amazing that a piece of eye candy stuck around for nearly 10 years non-stop.

It's really quite the accomplishment.

Does this mean Kidman has to get a job now? Sorry, couldn't resist.

I think Meltzer gave her age this week as 36.

No, since they've seperated a few years ago.
Last thing I heard she was dating one of the spirit squad guys?
And at this years HOF ceremony, Kidman was in attendance with a VERY HOT pair of twins. Not sure what they were to him, but damn were they nice.
Point is, not with Torrie.

She raised the bar as far as hot chicks in wrestling when she showed up in WCW way back when. I can't think of a generic blonde wrestling valet that is hotter to this day.

I imagine there is an easy TNA paycheck in her future.

FWIW, I think Kidman is a trainer down in FCW for WWE.

She's come right out and said that she's done wrestling in the ring, and TNA already has a bunch of females on their roster. She could appear in some small capacity for a few shows, but her easy paycheck wouldn't be very big, as far as I'm concerned.

Does TNA even have any non-wrestling women on the roster right now? I would have said Sharmelle, but she's done mixed tags with Booker, right?

Yeah, unless you count Lauren and Crystal, the interviewers, they have all wrestled.

Contrarian view here, but I was never a big Torrie fan. I thought she was to Divas what Lashley was to muscular giants, charisma-wise. Which is to say "entirely void of it".

D'oh, no, you're right, of course. She's wrestled a few times in indies but I have no idea if there was any actual "wrestling" involved on her part.

On-topic, I agree entirely with TheOldMan: I was never a fan -- even dating back to her days with WCW, and, you know, back then I even liked Mark Jindrak.

***EDIT -- and, as reminded by Quezzy below, Karen is also a non-wrestler. I should just shut up.

I'd say that's pretty unfair since there are enough uncharismatic divas to say that charisma isn't even part of being a diva. Sable didn't have any charisma, neither did Stacy, neither did Miss Elizabeth, neither does pretty much all of them except Sunny and Trish and maybe one or two others.

Most of the TNA women have gotten in the ring at SOME point, but that doesn't make them wrestlers. If Torrie wanted to go to TNA she could do just as much as Val, Salinas, Tracy, Peyton, Christy, Karen and Sharmell. Of course, they don't need that many females doing jack squat but I'd take Torrie over any of the rest of them.

I heard at one point that they were going to make Torrie a spokesperson, is it possible they come back with a different contract or would they have not announced her as being released if they had done that?

I think the dog Torrie carried around with her for a year or so had more charisma than she.

I won't miss her, but still, I wish her the best.
