My buddy complained: "Why did Cameron go into the ladies room in the first place?"

Answer: Terminators have learning computers. They have three directives: terminate, protect, and learn. In the absence of a situation where she had to terminate or protect John Connor, Cameron decided to learn more about the humans she's pretending she's one of. Who isn't glad Cameron learned to say "tight"?

I don't think this was a bad episode overall. There was some dumb shit (that was tight). But John wasn't a total tool for the first time. He WANTED to do something heroic, and that counts for a lot. But he sure did a lot of whining to his mom about Cameron holding him back.

Also, I frown on Sarah's policy that their personal fembot has to wear clothes around the house. Don't I get a vote here?

John's explanation for how Cameron can make it through metal detectors at school was good. That's a detail that had to be addressed. And it saves Cameron from having to terminate security every time she wants to enter the building. How Sarah got the lines of credit to open up three cell phone accounts I'd like to know.

While gross, I also found interesting how the Terminator endoskeleton went through the trouble to figuring out how to replicate his human shell in our time. It also gives the out on how Cameron's sexy human shell can be regrown after she is inevitably slashed and torn to the point where only her endoskeleton is showing.

Sarah's voice over stuff about the history of the atomic bomb was more interesting than anything found in all the aired episodes of Bionic Woman. And I liked the line and the delivery from Sarah: "What language do you speak, boy?" It makes sense she's having the hardest time living in this strange, scary world of 2008.

My favorite line was first one: "When I was in the mental asylum, I became fascinated by science." I'd have added, "This was during my free time when I wasn't being sexually harrassed by the guards, doing pullups, or jerked around by Dr. Silberman."

Prepaid! Or there were credit cards in that paperwork package she got from Enrique's nephew.

I'm still waiting for the line of dialogue I heard in the radio ads:

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
John (getting into car): I call shotgun!
Cameron: I call nine millimeter.
HAR HAR!

That said, I'm loving this show. A lot.

Meh, it's a little late to reply to this thread, but (since tonight is a repeat) I'll just throw it out there ...

How come when Cameron interacted with John in the first episode, she acted like a normal human teenager? But, when she's amongst all these high school students during this episode (in the bathroom, etc) she's all "THIS IS TIGHT BEEP BEEP BOOP" ... Did she suddenly "forget" how to act normal? Did her programming malfunction or something?

I justify Cameron's behavior one of two ways:

1. She was given one-time, human-like behavior protocols in order to lure John to her. Once that mission succeeded those protocols were automatically deleted.

2. Her human behavior was in the pilot episode, and as with all shows, major changes are made after a pilot is picked up for series.

I'd put more stock in #2, really.
