(Wish I could take credit for that.)
Yeah, this episode ruled. The Nightmare Man sequence with Parkman and Nathan unknowingly fighting each other was probably one of the best scenes of the entire series.
But how was there a new issue of 9th Wonder (or at least one we haven't seen before)? I wonder if someone else has taken over the title. I know how comic fans feel about fill-in artists.
I like how the writers can't even figure out what Nikki's deal is. "My dad can walk though walls. And don't get me started on my mom." Hilarious.
Hiro's storyline needs to stop being boring immediately, otherwise everything else is working just dandy. | JustinShapiro

OMG, it IS the spinoff where they dump the whole cast and Veronica is aged into the future and set to work for the FBI and also given powers to control electricity. Seeing her solve the case of the missing Peter all Veronica style, but EVILLY? That hurt. At least she's still listening to her dad.

| #4 Posted on 23.10.07 1120.47 Reposted on: 23.10.14 1121.36 | It would amuse me greatly if Nightmare Dad was actually the bigbad of the season. This tubby balding old guy is the menace destroying the Superfriends -- by making them kill themselves with twisted mind games. Whee!
...but ultimately I think that's the main problem with season two. There's no bigbad, no specific menace we're building towards. From episode one of the series we had a driving purpose, and that was to prevent New York from going boom. Sure, there were twists along the way, and the sidetracks and side missions, but we had a logical stop point for the season.
What do we have here? Well, there's a bunch of old evil bastards we don't care about being killed. The only one we DID care about died right away. And there's this virus thing which hasn't really been explained much which takes away powers and stuff... kinda hard to make a virus into a bigbad... and the Company's still around, etc... hmm. Nothing to really latch onto. The show ends up spinning its wheels in soap opera madness, with each character having their own little challenges and conflicts without an uberplot to back it up.
Also, would it kill them to write in ONE good superpowered fight..? Either Hiro/Kensei vs. Lotsa Baddies, or Peter vs. Sylar, or just SOMETHING. They keep teasing it and then it either show it offscreen to save budget or stick to Jessica punching things. | dunkndollaz

I agree that there is no specific bad guy or bad thing that they are trying to stop. I am actually getting a season 2 LOST feel right now and I am not liking that at all.
I want to know who Kristen Bell's daddy is ? Rumor has it her character is tied into Claire somehow - could she be flying boy's evil sister or something ?
and too bad for the dude who got fried - I liked him on CSI: Miami up until he shot himself in the head in front of Callie | sentonBOMB

I assumed it was Bob. He's the only one of the superfriends left, other than Linderman, who hasn't had a child revealed; and it seems like she's connected with The Company.
Other than that, I do agree somewhat with the complaints about no overarching story (though it might be coming soon with the X-Men 3 style "cure for the disease of having powers" thing we seem to be coming up on). But I actually enjoy watching this season a little more despite that because the pacing is so much better. I felt that last season tried to pack every story into every episode and it felt like it took forever to find anything out. This time, they seem to be focusing on fewer simultaneous storylines per episode, which feels more natural.

Nathan vs. Burnt Nathan was pretty good, but I liked it better the first time, in Superman III.
The double dutch scene, especially the black girl saying "You WANT somethin'?!" (oh Lord), was one of the stupidest in the history of television, only marginally redeemed by Monica copying Bruce Lee's moves. If Monica mentions what a "hard couple of years she's had" one more time... (We get it, you were in Katrina.)
A question about Monica's power: When she copies something, does she retain the information or is it a momentary thing and she loses whatever physical trait she picks up after time? Wonder how long it'll take the writers to address that? Answer: Probably never. (See: "How exactly do Niki/Jessica's powers work?")
Oh, when Parkman is busy looking for his daddy and Mohinder is off working for Bob and then jetting to New Orleans to find Monica, who's watching Molly?
When Kristen Bell and Hayden Panetierre have scenes together in a couple of weeks, I expect I'll be too distracted to complain.

-She retained the ability to do the tomato roses long after. -You are probably correct. Also, the jump rope was the lamest possible test of her powers. Also, dunking wouldn't work, as it's less of a skill and more of a task that requires height and excellent jumping capabilities.

She's in a coma at the Company hospital under doctors care; she's not exactly Home Alone.

Agreed.
I really hope at least some of these new characters are going to end up as fodder for a big bad/Sylar/whoever, because every single one of them with the obvious exception of Bell has driven me up the wall. The new women, though, are all mind blowingly hot, so they at least are nice to look at. | #9 Posted on 23.10.07 1530.24 Reposted on: 23.10.14 1531.49 | I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm not much of a fan of Kristen Bell getting added to the cast. I understand that a lot of fans like to geek out over someone from one cult show jumping over to another cult show and 'marking' (to steal a wrestling term) over all the 'cute' little references they make, but it's just not for me.
Maybe I'm misplacing my frustration on how Kring likes to make the good guys (Parkman, Monica, etc...) act lame while only the villains get to be decisive and sure of themselves, and do what most of the fans are going to consider 'cool'....
I'm sort of hoping the scope of what Parkman can do mentally expands over the course of the season. I have a weak spot for psychic characters. | John Orquiola

A friend posed an interesting question, re: Monica's powers: What are the limits of her powers? If she watched Bruce Lee catch a bullet in his teeth, could she do that too? What if she watched The Matrix? Could she do bullet time kung fu?
See? I don't just complain. Sometimes I'm intrigued by Heroes.
And now for another complaint:
Are the Hispanic Wonder Twins and Sylar any closer to getting across the border to the US? On a show where people routinely travel across the country and back in an afternoon, it's taking them for fucking ever to get out of Mexico. (Almost as long as it took All-Star Batman and Robin to get to the Batcave.)
Maybe Tim Kring cut the scene where they suddenly realized they were heading in the wrong direction for a week. They were surprised when they hit the Panama Canal.

Your point about everybody else being able to travel around at will is valid, but the twins began the season in Honduras. They had to travel through Guatemala and then all of Mexico to get to the U.S. A lot of people have mistakenly assumed that they've been in Mexico the whole time. Plus, they're traveling on foot or hitchhiking. They don't have Company jets.
Which does bring up another question, though. Who's financing Noah's trip to Odessa now that he's no longer with The Company? | Bullitt

Since removed since it was added due to Wikiality. Yet another fan of a show posting their favorite rumor as true, hoping it will convince others that they were right.
