You live 3 blocks from a prison? I hope your rent is cheap.

It's a Federal Prison Hospital. There is a difference.

Technically, the ENTRANCE is three blocks from my place -- smack dab in the middle of the city --but the actual facility is a good mile or so off the highway in all four directions.

And really, why would it be bad to live close to a prison? If the prisoners escape, it's not gonna be like they're hanging around or anything -- they're going to want to get as far away as possible. And since they only keep sick or injured prisoners there, I don't think they're going to be able to do much in the off chance that they do get out of their country-club like setting anyway.

I wish I had a digital camera. I'd post a photo of the place. It looks like a golf course with a State University's Administration building in the center.

Yeah, I guess it would be hard to escape in a wheelchair.

Good luck getting a picture of the place. Making a long story short, my father-in-law and a couple of buddies took an aquaintance of theirs to a New Mexico state prison so he could turn himself in. They drank beer the whole way there. When they arrived, they thought it would be fun to get some group photos taken in front of the prison, so they bust out the camera and start snapping. Before they know it, they're surrounded by guards pointing guns at them, and they wind up getting frisked and the film yanked out of the camera.

So, be sure and use a telephoto lens.

Yeah, but when they escape, most of them want guns, clothes, money, a car, etc. and where are they gonna get it? The houses close to the facility.

They will find only one thing on that list in my home.

Were I a convict escaping from said facility, the nearby State University Agricultural Center complete with dense wooded areas, would probably be a better option for my flight. There's plenty of places to hide out until the swarms of police searching the apartments and homes disappear and go off in search of pastries.

Strangly enough a lot of people that came in contact with Gotti were found at the bottom of a large body of water with three blocks attached to them.

he died just days after several members of his family (and THE family) were arrested in a major investigation. now the feds might not let his own son ot brother go to the funeral.

on another note, I wonder if David Chase will work this into a Soprano's story line this year. They already established Tony knew Gotti (the ice cream truck.)
