Jesus, those pop up ads ESPN.com have are just awful. EZBoard pop ups have nothing on these. The Planters Peanut guy floats through your article, or Chris Rock pops up and blocks half the story.

Just when you think the web is hard enough to surf through they throw more crap at you.

not as bad as Foxsports.com, it takes my computer forever to boot this site with the pop-ups. I quit using that site a month ago, so I do not know if anything has changed.

I quit using the foxsports site for the same reason. The popups on pwtorch.com also suck. It's a real pain in the ass to battle through all those popups to just read about some AM radio station in Iowa that uses RVD's entrance music during traffic updates. Is there some type of popup killer that really works?

mozilla, download it, install it... then go to edit --> preferences, click on advanced, click on scripts and windows, uncheck "open unrequested windows" and any other things that seem icky to you. no more popups, and it properly supports png transparencies (unlike the windows version of IE).

So I download Mozzerella. I install it. I change the settings so there are no popups. And then I test it out.

But I don't go to ESPN.com. I don't go to the Torch. No, if I'm gonna test drive a vehicle, I'm not gonna ease into it ... I want to push it to its limits right off the bat.

So I mosey over to 1wrestling.com ... if any site is going to have eight or nine popups on my screen with the click of the button, this is it. And what do you know? Mozilla is deflecting those popups like Obi Wan deflecting laser beams with his lightsaber. Bravo Mozilla! Horray!

The ultimate test would be going to a porn site, they have the most pop ups per page of anything ever put on the net...not that I'd ever do anything like go to a porn site

Actually, 1popup.com has more WAY more popups than a porn site...the internet window popups, that is.

At least my friend's brother's uncle's, next-door neighbor's, college roomates, cousin's, nephew told someone I know.

Pop Up Killer and Mozilla sure are handy on the external pop up ads, but you can't do anything about the ESPN ads that cover up articles you may be reading (like mentioned previously). I don't know if anyone knows how to eliminate those. 1wrestling is easier to read now, however I am a Scott Keith and Scotsman 'ho so I only read 411wrestling/smarks and crz.net

The only thing I have found with IE that works is turning off the option to display pictures in the Internet Options - Advanced area. This turns off all pictures on the page though, not just the floating ones.
