Apparently, the Chinese Gov't. has told the Bukcs that Yi will never play for Milwaukee and that there is a list of teams that he would be better suited for that they would welcome a trade to. Now, of course, they are looking for a high concentration of Asian people in the community of the team they want him to go to but are covering up by saying basketball wise, he does not fit in with the Bucks team.

I am not sure how high the Asian communities are in the rst of the country, but shouldn't Dolan and Isiah be on the phone to the Bucks and offering Curry and an expiring contract for the rights to Yi? Pairing Yi in the post with Randolph and Lee with Q and Marbury gives the Knicks a real solid starting five. And with ther bench (Balkman, Crawford, Jefferies etc.) they SHOULD be a playoff team in the East.

Has anyone heard anything about where Yi will be traded to? Or will he just head back to China?

The Wizards play in the heart of DC's Chinatown. The former MCI Center is at the Chinatown metro stop.

Seems like a good fit to me.

"This is not -- as media reports have said -- because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good for Yi's commercial development," Chen said.

"Rather we want to find a team suitable for Yi's growth. That's the root of the problem," he added.

Apparently this rather cryptic statement means that they don't think he'd be good with Milwaukee because they already have three players in the rotation who are nearly 7 feet tall in Andrew Bogut, Dan Gadzuric, and Charlie Villanueva.

If he's being untruthful about wanting to put Yi in a big Asian city, then the NBA Cities with the largest Asian populations tend to be those with the largest populations in general: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Golden State, Houston, Seattle, and Philadelphia are in the top 12.

Here's the thing, if he heads back to China, then Milwaukee will keep his rights. The only way for him to avoid Milwaukee would be if the Bucks trade him or if Yi sits out a year (in which case he could reenter the draft). I wonder if he would just try and enroll in some college for the year, but that would be pretty risky because he could suck. He could also get hurt, but he'd have insurance to protect against that eventuality.

At the end of the day, the Bucks do have a decent amount of leverage. It will be interesting to see if they decide to play hardball or if they give in and trade him.
